  • Hi All,

Haven't posted for a couple of months but thanks to a bonus at work I've reached £1000! It's a very comforting feeling!

I'll soon be starting on a pet emergency fund as we are planning to get 2 cats in the spring.
  • Hello! Is it too late to join? or will there be a new one of these for the new year? :)

Currently I have £0 savings so to be able to raise £1,000 would be amazing now I'm on my journey to being debt free. No more emergency credit card spending for me! From January I'm putting aside £50 per month into savings, and hopefully I'll be able to put some in sooner if I get a Christmas bonus (which is on thin ice at the moment unfortunately!) or extra bits and bobs :)

Hi Kawaii Corgi - Of course you can join. :hello:

There's no time limit on this challenge so it just keeps going. Update us when you add to it or if there is an emergency then use it as that's what it's there for.

Patman will be along shortly and will allocate you a number.

    Welcome aboard :D

  • Hi everyone, member 150 checking in. I didn't manage to sell the chairs but my SIL has just moved house and she needed them, so they have gone to a good home.
Currently I have gbp345 so getting there slowly :0)
  • Just popping in to offer congratulations to the savers:beer: and commiserations to the spenders:kisses3:.

My £1000 remains intact for now:j but it's getting to the time of year when essential heating appliances seem to die:eek:. I'm taking things one day at a time;)

    Good luck, everyone:)

Kawaii Corgi, you are member #212 and are most welcome.

Been busy ebaying my old tools as I am upgrading to a system that uses one battery for all the items. Managed to sell an old Ryobi 18v cordless drill for £29.99. This was £10 more than I paid for it 6 years ago.

Also sold an all-in-one printer I found in a skip (yes, I did test it, and it worked faultlessly).

Other sales include an ION LP2CD turntable for over 5x what I paid for it.

Still have 1 drill and 2 laptops to list.

On the EF side, I had to tx £500 of it to my main account to cover bills whilst waiting for my wages to come in. I am now txing money back over to the EF on a weekly basis along with adding to my 3-6 month fund.

I am using the rounding down method as it is nice and simple. I round down to the nearest £10 to my 3-6 month fund and then to the nearest £100 to my ef.

On the down side, my printer has gone again and as it is the same error message as before, have determined that the print head has developed a fault in such that it lets the ink dribble out of the cartridges and blocks the heads.
    Never Knowingly Understood.

    Member #1 of £1,000 challenge - £13.74/ £1000 (that's 1.374%)

    3-6 month EF £0/£3600 (that's 0 days worth)

  • Hi everyone,

I'm member number 164 :) I am a bit late to the mark but due to a recent job promotion I am hoping that now is my time to finally start saving and getting on my feet! I am hoping to have achieved this by next Summer so we'll see how well I do! xx
