I returned ann item back in beginning of August.I am waiting for a refund of £149.99 and after a few phone calls was promised it on 12th September.Didnt come so now I guess I can forget about it.How long should I wait before contacting barclaycard to try and get the refund through them. Many thanks for any answers

Do it now. The administrator will try to find a buyer for the company first. If it does end up in liquidation customers are the last in the line.

If its a proper Barclaycard (creditcard) then the money will be refunded from Barclaycard straight away. If its a chargeback via a Barclays debit card then it will have to go via P4Us bank so that 'may' take a bit longer. Sooner you start the sooner you get your money.

Does anyone use Life mobile? It is phones4u's own network. I am currently with them (1 year contract) and so is my son. How will that affect us? (I have no luck with mobile phones. First it was ovivo, then vectone and now Life) :(

Who have you got in mind next? (so we can all avoid) :p

but ill not be happy continuing to pay and have cancelled the direct debit before it comes out this month

Its not clear what direct debit you have cancelled (I think its the insurance policy), but if you have a contract with a minimum term cancelling the DD before you hit the mimimum terms and not puytting an alternative payment method in force may place you at default and may be subject to cancellation charges.

Yes its for the insurance, states you can cancel at anytime.

You can cancel this at any time by popping into a store, by calling Customer Services on

0844 871 0535*, by email to phones4ucare@policyadmin.co.uk, or by post.
Once purchased, as long as we’re receiving
your monthly payment you’ll be covered, but if
    the policy isn’t for
you any more, it’s up to you to cancel. We don’t want you to be paying
for something you don’t want or need.

  • Hi my partner received his phone via a jump contract. He was with vodafone but the contract finished and he now has a monthly sim with virgin. However he has nearly a year to run on the jump contract for the handset. Is this run by someone else? I presume he won't get away without paying for his handset, however much that would be a dream come true for him lol. Thanks for any answers.

I don't think you should wonder for too long...the chances are slim to none as it looks right now...
  • I've got a phone on contract through P4U, still has 12 months on the contract and also has a quarterly redemption whereby they give me back £30 each quarter.
I assume this latest news now means I will be unable to get any future redemption payments fro P4U?
  • I'm wondering the same about cashback, however I only have one month left of my contract but still a £50 cashback due to me
  • Can anybody tell me whether a Jump Contract will still be effective. I am only paying for phone at the moment as renewed my contract with Vodafone earlier this year but still had contract left on phone.
