Well, I watched the live event and they only announced contract prices in $. So I'm not sure where Nick Durrant has got his info from, perhaps it is given out to media, or the more likely Nick guessed the prices based on past history.
The UK prices went up in the UK Apple Store just after the keynote last night.====0 -

True, but it's still disappointing to see MSE reporting on Apple's iPhone launches at all. I understand that for hardcore Apple addicts nothing else will do, and the iPhone is a very capable and desirable phone, but as far as value-for-money is concerned it's the absolute worst.
When a phone that offers truly amazing value for money comes out - such as the Moto G or the OnePlus One - MSE doesn't even give it a mention. It's a shame, because really that's what MSE should be about - finding the amazing money-saving deals that people might not otherwise hear about.0 -
Looks like the 0% finance offer ends today. So will cost more to buy new iPhone on credit.0

nah but no thanks!
i used to be a techie geek chasing after the latest mobile. well within the limitations of my contract.
had the very first iphone which was £99 on a 18 month contract at £35 per month and with unlimited internet too! it was a great deal. never ever seen anything like that again.
now the price ofthe phones has crept up, the length of the tarrifs has crept up to 24 months and tarrifs are about the same and you get less for your money.
coupled with the mid term price hike scandal the mobile phone industry has gone backwards in my view.
the best way is PAYG. paid £135 for my Acer phone. does everything i'd expect of a smartphone, has a great battery life and only costs me roughly £7.50 and month average in top ups.
why waste any more money than you have to?
This website is meant to be all about saving money isnt it?0 -

I love most Apple products. But I do agree with this, I think to be honest MSE knows most about credit things, but whenever I see anything related to tech (there isn't much) its not really about the deals that could be had.
I think they just lack a dedicated tech team or tech person with all the knowledge to report on it accurately with deals also.0 -
By the way, to any that are going to get the iPhone 6, either version, I have found that the Gold models retain more value as are more unique and thus more popular. I noticed a very difference in price on eBay sold listings for Gold iPhone 5s' than the other colours.
The colour doesn't bother me that much considering I'll be putting a case on to protect it anyway!0 -
The iPhone 6 is Gucci boots in mobile phone form. Nice if you desire, appreciate and can afford one. Nothing whatsoever to do with money saving. Should thus thread be reported as spam?0

Sooner or later, they'll realise it's far easier to have a human being doing all the button pushing for you.
What I want is a bluetooth headset in the form of a spectacle, or a fold flat design that will fit into a breast pocket. In combination with the "Watch", I give my orders to a minimum wage keyboard jockey, who will actually order the pizza for me.
Ideal job for a single mum, no commuting, no need for childcare, sign on to work when you are free. Get a PC, broadband, phone line, and you are working.
Instead of selling a super-duper quad-core, octopus-core battery sapping monster, all they needed was a GSM connection, and a subscription concierge service. For people who use it rarely, some kind of 118118 pay as you go service, deduct the cost from the stored Top-Up.
If you pay extra, you get a college graduate who can speak properly, and knows what a lumquat is. If you go with EE, you get a Ray Winstone type who tell you to like what you get, or he'll send the boys round.
This drastically reduces hardware obsolescence, and creates lot's of jobs. A knighthood, please.0 -

Hi ballyblack
You're right, an iPhone 6 isn't MoneySaving but we try to help people save money on anything they plan to buy, whether it's an iPhone or something else.
