I'm way overdue an upgrade from Three and have been waiting for the iPhone 6. I work 9-6pm weekdays so won't be able to go to the Three shop to pre-order on Saturday.

My best bet is to try and pre-order on the Three website. Is this possible as an upgrade on the Three site or would it only work with new contracts.

    Thanks :)

Yeah you'll be able to upgrade to iPhone 6, it'll just be the same deal as everyone else gets though.. I can't say I've noticed in the past 4 or more years any sign from my phone company that they reduce my bill or give me a better deal due to loyalty. It's all about new customers to these people, because they're already earning money off you.

True, but it's still disappointing to see MSE reporting on Apple's iPhone launches at all. I understand that for hardcore Apple addicts nothing else will do, and the iPhone is a very capable and desirable phone, but as far as value-for-money is concerned it's the absolute worst.

When a phone that offers truly amazing value for money comes out - such as the Moto G or the OnePlus One - MSE doesn't even give it a mention. It's a shame, because really that's what MSE should be about - finding the amazing money-saving deals that people might not otherwise hear about.

Yes, but I think its important to point out the fact that it is not MoneySaving. Their marketing tactics would lead you to believe otherwise, so its good to have MSE point it out.

I have had a friend rationalise it in many ways, that other incremental phones are the same price at release (false) and that it is better spec'ed than other phones (false again). I strongly think their marketing is so good, they could sell you a paperweight and empty out your bank account.

My wife wants to replace her iPad mini+iPhone with 1 device, eg the iPhone 6+.
One side benefit would be a handbag-able mini tablet that always has 3G/4G.
(Note that since the demise of Ovivo and Samba, no carrier in the UK offers an economical occasional-user iPad data deal)

I'm telling her, best to pick up and compare the weight and size of both the 6 and the 6+ before making a decision. So when will demo examples be physically available in the Apple stores?

I have just sold my iPad 2 because I haven't been using it lately and I thought, considering I'm probably going to get the 6+ as it has better improvements like battery life etc, it's basically going to be like having a tablet anyway.
I wonder if there's going to be apps that are in between just iphone apps and iPad apps, or more likely developers will make their iPad apps available on 6+ because it will likely have enough size for those kinda of apps.

There seems to be two types of people. Those who buy phones when they need one, and those that like Apple products. Apple are very clever to instil a 'need' to have the latest product in people who buy Apple products with those who are not drawn in looking bemused by the whole addictive nature of them.

Personally I like the look of the range of Nokia Lumia's coming out now for a fraction of the cost......

Yeah they're trying to encourage people to come in and play with them, I don't know if there'll be much of that happening other than when you're stood in the queue on that day ha.

And I suggest there is another type of Apple user. Those that have had them for a few years, don't know about the competition which has caught up and now beats them especially in price!
