Honeybear thank you. GP was very nice (not one I often see) and yes I do need blood tests but tbh that was what I was hoping for.

Piggers if I can't cover a bite swelling with my hand it is often time to go - I got 3 new bites to add to my vast collection last night.

Showery here but DS3 did get washing in as directed and emptied DW.

Whilst in the village I renewed DS3's library book, picked up his script and booked an appointment for DS2 to have menningitis jab pre uni.

Just having a cuppa then kitchen floor here I come, oh and the shower DH thought he had fixed is leaking from the pump.

I think Pathways in Chesterfield only wants sleeping bags (my Mum took a couple last week for me) but the Salvation Army (there are clothing banks all over) will take the blankets or alternatively local pet charities sometimes ask for old blankets and towels.
oooh - I know where there's a Salvation Army collection bank TY

Valli-How was the car boot? was it really busy? Its only about 2 miles from us (if it was twin oaks) and we keep saying we will try it as it's later start but never have yet,
Yes, that's the one. They open for booters at 10; was both busy and well organised, although regulars said it was quiet (?).
They do, however, admit anyone from 10am if they pay £5 so you do get a huddle round. People were asking for jewellery, perfume and lego. There are chemical toilets, they ran out of loo roll though. I was more than happy with the timing; people start packing up around 3 and it's easy to get away from which is good. There were a couple of bouncy things; a castle and a slide and lots of catering so it does attract people.

I have 1 bite on my thigh.. otherwise I'd share the pic, but I don't want anyone sicking lol.. it is 10 inches wide by about 7 high.. yes inches.. and it is evil. I don't even know what bit me but OH was bitten too and he has a mark smaller than a 5p .. He said it needs checking.. I think its fine and will sort itself..

As has been said - this needs looking at! My mum's on antib's for one and it is WAY smaller than that! You could end up with impetigo if you're not careful! Off to the quack - pronto! *flings fluffy mule*

Have bitten the bullet and thrown the curtain fabric - sis gave me a pair of curtains a few years back - I have had two pairs of curtains made from them and have decided to fling the rest. The black bin is almost full. Taken DD to Morries and bought rubber gloves because I have cut my finger on the prop AGAIN - now I can wash up & clean up. I shall do the kitchen when both the kids are at work.

  • Thanks LW - I do get the warm fuzzy feeling from doing good and I enjoy being with other volunteers too as it can get a bit lonely here all day. I know I am a perfectionist so what I do is always to my very best and as instructed - to the point of ocd! - but it's the totally cream crackered feeling and the inability to do anything else on the two days I go in that I don't like! LOL. I'll be strong next Monday - promise.

Just finished double HHI - only DS bedding to do before trip down again on Friday.
Library next - they wouldn't let me renew one as it had been reserved -- but I couldn't take it back 'cos I wasn't here - so a fine is looming!!

PIGPEN GO TO THE DOCS!!!. :D
That is not a good size for a bite!

I have given up and brought the washing in. It was nearly dry and covered in greenfly

I have a fab enormous new parasol courtesy of @sda online for the princely sum of £12 plus some school uniform bits. The culottes I got for DD look rather snug round the waist. She can try them on but I am wondering now why I got age 3-4 when she is almost 4 and bigger than average  hmm I could also measure against her other skirt

I am trying to avoid doing a job (paid stuff) that I've been putting off for weeks and the deadline is next week. Really don't want to do it, but really don't want to have to do it next Monday either...

    S'pose I'll get on then :(

  • JTTOU, I would think a week's notice would be reasonable, if it's not making you happy.

Piggers, take some time out for you to get your bite looked at, that sounds far too big.

Monday - Kitchen and Dining Room
    15 minutes...

    30 minutes to spare..
[STRIKE]Clean the sink and slush the drain out[/STRIKE]
    Got an hour...
[STRIKE]Give the oven door a clean too
    Wipe the door handles[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Exterminate, exterminate get rid of those annoying hotspots[/STRIKE]
    Extra Mission
Sort out the fridge/freezer/pantry and make a list of things to use up this week - will play fridge roulette for tea later, then I will clean the fridge as well.

window sill de-gibbled, cleaned and window frames given a very quick S&S. Flower vases, plant pots and sentimental stuff all cleaned and buffed too.

spent 10 minutes maintaining my new v@x hoover, taking the rotating brush off, cutting off and unravelling a mixture of DD1 and DD3 long locks, using a pipe cleaner to get in nooks and crannies and a dry scourer to get the dirt off stuck to the see-through bits, all assembled back together.....all hail the Man Drawer and Skinty's little tool kit, now I can lay my hands on everything it seconds it makes the job less daunting.......to be fair fiddling with the hoover didn't really need doing, but I feel better for knowing its done.:o

Time for some R&R with a brew and then I will play "peeping behind the curtain" with the stuff hidden behind the tension rod in DD4 room and the day is still young!

    HH-decluttering at 4.30 anyone?
The cold never bothered me anyway

Put the washing out this morning. It went a little dark and a few spots of rain. Rushed around like a lunatic and just about got it in before the heavens opened and a massive thunderstorm!

Well, thank you sb5 as in the sofa hot spot I just found an unopened letter from a solicitor about the car accident I had on fathers day and giving me 28 days to forward it to my insurance company and them to acknowledge it! dated 29 July!!! So got a bit distracted with phoning my insurance company to get the right offices address etc! PHEW! The accident was so minor - totally my fault, I just popped into the back of him when he slowed down to let a car turn in front, but he's now claiming for whiplash etc and my insurance company said they can't even dispute it now even though I said it was so slow, they said it can't be proved and that's why all claims basically now have whiplash on them! Disgusting! At least my no claims is protected! :D

Sigh, that was a horrible reminder, and now thehotspot is half done - it's spread out to the whole of the second sofa because I was organising into piles plus a rubbish pile. It'll have to stay that way as I need to get something on for dinner and also plan lunches for rest of the week plus finish off the kitchen tasks for today. Doing well so far though I think :T
