  • Thank you Bonnie for the soup recipe.
I've done all the Monday's list except the under-sink cupboard.I only did it last week and it looks ok.
It said in the paper that bites are extra severe this year so definitely get that one sorted Pigpen.I have a much smaller one on the top of my arm,and even that makes my whole arm ache.
    Have a good evening everyone.

Pig-pen - get to pharmacist and get sorted !! Interesting design with the crisps, maybe interior designer in the making :)

Re the voluntary job - just give a week's notice and a polite note wouldn't do any harm. Honesty is best policy imo

My bottom of fridge soup is just basically :-
All the 'sad' bits of veggies left in fridge.
Roughly chop (peel and all) and soften with some chopped leek or onion and some chopped garlic in a pan.
Add some stock (hm pref or cube will do)
Add herbs or spices to taste, blitz and eat.
To make a bit more filling add a tin of beans or chickpeas. Voila !!

At work today but did some flying before I came out

If it's gone I've done it or don't have one

Monday - Kitchen and Dining Room

    Sweep and mop the floor
    slush the drain out

    Hello!
I've swiped and washed kitchen floor today, cleaned bath, sink , loo and outside loo. And hoovered. Nice.

didn't do the kitchen because I decided to make a veggie chilli for my tea (thus using up some veggies and the half-used passata) and, as DS was out I have vacuumed his room (covered with coco pops *SIGH*) and stripped and remade his bed. Plus, as it was rainy and squally I couldn't put the mats out while I did the floor. Been to Morries to pick DD up - and bought a plastic box of Johnsons Baby stuff for PG niece. Half price to £9.99 then I get 10% off with the card! 8 items - 6 x 300ml bottles, cotton buds and wipes. WOOT!

Valli I still use my johnsons baby box now, it sits under my corner table in the living room, and houses wipes, tissues, hair things for DD, cotton buds, antiseptic etc. all the stuff I generally need 5 mins before I want them to leave the house lol.

I've sorted the kitchen after dinner but not done the floors as I started making packup for tomorrow. Then I've had a shower and I need to go to bed as I have an early start tomorrow.

Also done another wash. Was reading the thread on drying laundry under rotary airer covers, thinking "ooh I might want one of those" only to have a  moment - when it rains, I just put my washing in the conservatory and have the windows open. Kind of the same thing only bigger ;)

I am looking into an energy monitor though. Anyone have one? My gas usage is decreasing year on year but my electric is increasing.

  • Thanks for the company earlier Elsie, glad you found something mega important down the sofa.....we always hope to find money or missing lottery tickets.

I am about to *try* to settle for the night in DD4 room on the floor. My BR has had most cupboards pulled out and cleaned one by one. Just got to remove the wardrobe contents the bridging units over the wardrobe, then I can plan where to put everything back.....well not everything....I really don't need every....I should be putting some out to junk and some to CS.

Right time to settle DS and DD4 down.....DD1 reckons she needs sleep and no night terrors tonight, so looks like I will be back in Zombie mode tomorrow

nighty night......don't let the bed bugs bite!
The cold never bothered me anyway

Our local library had them available to borrow a while back. Maybe check with your council/LA. Since I borrowed it I keep my microwave switched off at the mains now!

    Morning All

Well got up this morning and the dog had S & D so I've now cleaned the kitchen floor and scrubbed some of the DR and hall carpets. Washing on the line and another load in the WM.

Going to have a bath now.

    Have a good day all
