It sure is, how devastating for his family and friends
Bossy, I got a free energy monitor from eon, which I did use for a while but have since recycled. It did show me that leaving things in standby is a big user of electricity in a many electronic device home (those pesky cereal sprinkling teens, I'm glad it is not just my DS1 who leaves a trail of food debris behind him, especially cheerios this week?). Having said that, after being with them for many years, because they were consistently the cheapest tariff for me, I took the plunge and switched to Ovo recently and it all went very smoothly and I'm saving £30 a month already.
Will crack on with some flying after work but we did fit the loft hatch balustrade last night which entailed sweeping and mopping my office, hoovering the stairs and landing again (4th day in a row). The loft hatch was on hold because the undertakers were closed for Whitby Regatta.Proud to have dealt with our debt. DFW Nerd 1474

DD is learning about unreliable friends- 2nd time let down by one in a week. So she's coming with us for the day.
I haven't had a chance to read back yet, will do when I've got straight in a few minutes. I shall get dressed, have a coffee and read the thread.

Gosh, this thread moves fast!
Ditto re the bite and the voluntary job!
Got some bits done from my list - did the shopping list and went shopping, roasted the chicken and children ate some. I also cooked extra dinner for DH to take to work today, cos we are meeting him this evening to go and see 'Phantom" - with the kids go free tickets. Did some work with DD, sorted out my planning folder and found 2 new folders from the garage to put new work in in September. Collected prescription, and took our money. Washed towels but the tumble dryer bit has packed up, so they are all spread around the house. Also sorted the shelf with sauces etc out and under the sink, but didn't get the floor washed. I also collected some of the windfall apples and made two apple cakes for the freezer. Last year I spent hours and hours collecting apples, cutting out all the bad bits, and either baking or blanching them for the freezer, but I won't have so much time this year. They are all full of black bits (I did look up what the problem was last year but can't remember now) so we can't just eat them.
The budgeting situation has reached crucial point as there are bills due out of the account any day now - today's plan is to get on top of clothes washing and then just put my head down, ignore children, and get it done in one swoop - trying to break it into little bits is not working
Have a good day everyoneMay spend - £291.40/£320.00

Mornign all.
My birthday present is en route - I'm having a new vacuum cleaner because my Mum thinks I should. Given my current upright manages to skid over some things I have to agree!
I have two washloads on the line - DS's work clothes. He's VERY good at sticking them in the wash upon removal - now if only I could persuade him to do this with all the rest...
Todays plan is shower, breakfast then hit the kitchen before the Vallikids surface. Should have PLENTY of time then :rotfl:Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

DIY: Livingroom
- Fill holes/cracks as appropriate, just a few touch ups and the ceiling to go.
[STRIKE] - DD to strip remaining wallpaper, [/STRIKE]
- measure up for wood for shelves/repairing cupboard & buy if weather holds for me to go and get it!
- Fix cupboard and fit shelves _pale_:think:_pale_ (first time doing stuff like this on my own!)
- dig out fireplace and get DD to start sanding the surround.
- sand, sand & sand some more! Thank goodness my orbital sander has a dust box
DD wants to go out and see her friend at some point as said friend is moving to Wales and is only here in Liverpool until Thursday. I said she can go either today or tomorrow depending on how things are going and the weather forecast. There's no way they can come here, every room is a mess with stuff from the livingroom. Only clutter free room is the bathroom! Having said that, DD is still in bed so I think I'll go get her up and she can watch P0k3mon and have breakfast while I tidy up and finish doing the filling. I have a feeling today is going to be a long and tiring day again.

Back again.
At the risk of getting flamed (!) Pigpen you are highly unlikely to go and see the quack about your bite unless your leg falls off (and even then, you'd probably walk around with it tucked into your trousers for a while) so I urge you to get a honey dressing on it. Obviously it's messy but any way you can get a load of honey applied to the affected area will start to work. I would recommend soaking a load of gauze in honey and then applying to wound then covering with clingfilm to hold it in and taping edges- or buy some film dressings.
It doesn't have to be fancy honey, supermarket off the shelf will do. You'll get a really strange feeling as you feel all the area start to drag. That is the honey doing it's trick and starting to pull out all the nasties.
Right, I'm off out for the day. LOL.. Kaz.. thank you
I picked off the crusty bit of the original bite and cleaned it and added a plaster, now I have a rash from the plaster on top of the bite but it is looking a bit better this morning.. I am just a bit concerned that these reactions are getting worse each time.

Morning all
Busy morning, had my fasting bloods done first thing, taken DS3 to a cricket match half our away, DS2 is away on his driving test (fingers crossed please anybody not flying).
DH's car away for an MoT and DS1 has a telephone interview at midday.
Plenty of cuppas and chocolate biscuits required all round in the land of dust.
Workmen are digging up the drain across the road which has been blocked for at least 3 years.
Need to get a couple of bits done here, wait for DS2 to get back and then head back to the cricket. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0
