Glad to hear Mr Wolf is back at home and have sent some spoons via Jedi Airways ;)
I'll be more intermittent than usual as I'm moving flats...

No you're not crazy or obsessed. Unless I was going to Honey Bear's cottage, I would do exactly the same. But now you've done it, forget cleaning for the rest of the week and enjoy your special family time x

Much as I love your trust in me Ionafan, sadly I have to admit that the chalet kitchen and its bits and pieces are only as clean as the last person left them. By the time we've put everything back where it belongs so we can tell people where things are kept, cut the grass, chopped the overgrown bits of the garden back and sorted out the linen there is no time to open doors or drawers. If I can smell the kitchen bin as I walk in (as I did three weeks ago), I know I'm in trouble. It's also the only time we have to mend everything that needs our attention and something usually does, although the plumber is actually over there as I type because the shower and the kitchen sink taps are on the fritz.

The two things I check are that the shower is actually clean (as opposed to having had bleach thrown at it) and the kitchen sink (a greasy tidemark's a bit of a giveaway). If those two are properly clean, then I trust everything behind closed doors and drawers are, too.

I know of a place in mid-Devon where they turn around 90 beds/about 20 units every single Saturday. One team does shower/bathrooms, another does dusting and vacuuming, another beds etc etc. I doubt the kitchen team has time to do more than fridges, ovens, microwaves, toasters, grills ... you get my drift.
    Better is good enough.

DDs puncture can't be located and I'm now thinking it might be a faulty valve. !!!!!! she's only had it a month  is everything made so cheaply now? :(

If I have understood correctly, if you take it back to the shop and say that it's "not fit for purpose", the seller then has to replace it, not the manufacturer.

Wednesday Winging & Flinging ~ Bathroom and Study/Pc Area
    15 minutes...

Clear floors of guff and stuff
Muck out any pets (Hammond needs full clean out, if time can do Houdini spot clean, if more time Crichton and Darwin as well - spot clean fairly urgent!)
    30 minutes to spare...
Clean baths, toilets, don't forget the outside! and sinks
    Clear any clutter from desk

Dust PC and desk and wipe off those cup rings!!
Wipe keyboard, house phone, sockets, switches and mouse etc
    Got an hour...
    wipe shower curtain
    Wipe down tiles in bathroom
.. defragment your pc while doing this.
Empty and clean out all the upstairs bins!
Sweep and mop and deslop the floors in these rooms.
    Collect all the dirty laundry

    Extra mission: Take your pick!
Wipe the skirtings, door and window frames in these rooms

I did semi-ok last night - bathroom is clean but floor needs a wipe, office area still needs doing (well, quick dust of the desk and that's it actually!) as do animal enclosures.

    Hi all

Sorry if this is a double post, the other one didn't seem to post last night.

Popped home in my lunch break as OH not with me today so quickly find something to make for dinner next few nights then write list so can go to shop straight from work if needed.

Fairly pleased with the house coming together this week, I've stuck to it for the most part and I feel much happier as a result! I only have Saturday off, but I'll be out most of the afternoon/evening and the Sun-Fri I'm on early shifts so finish as 3.30 which is nice but will be tired by end of week!

Hope everyone is having a good day. I put clothes wash on this morning and am about to put it to dry, and whack the towels in, then at least don't have to worry tonight!

Hugs to all who need them... this thread moves so fast I struggle to keep up with what everyone is doing!

Thanks embb and ionafan we actually bought it online so not somewhere I can take it back to. Would need to arrange collection etc. anyway, I called a local bike shop and explained and he said to bring it there. Waited for mum to get here then took the whole bike (!) and 5 min later he had replaced the inner tube, refit the wheel and pumped it up solid :T Cost £10 including the new inner, and much less hassle. All done now, happy little girl and stress-free mama ;)

Had some lovely chicken lemon and pepper meatballs for lunch, rather spicy but very tasty, there's enough left for my dinner too :D

More washing done, DW filled, washing hung up. Kids clothes out for camping. Really ought to write a list of what we need to take. DS is taking his fleece onesie lol, I hope it's not that cold on a night! Still, he liked to play out in it before bedtime, but will probably change for bed. Bless him.

He's feeling better again this morning. No more whimpering just normal doggie purring which is great. He's also worked out that if you drop the parcel of ham on the floor you can get the antibiotic pill out before eating the ham. Grrrrr.
Awww, bless him! Penny-Dog always used to have tablets wrapped up in a bit of fish; she quickly learned that if she took the piece with the tablet in nicely, she'd get another piece, without a tablet, afterwards.:o The last time Ted the Terrier stayed, he was on anti-b's, and I was instructed to put them in the middle of a little "ball" of cheese - not so easy to winkle the tablet out of.;) Continued healing vibes for Ozzie. x

Re s/c holidays: the only time Mr LW and I have gone s/c, I washed two each of plates, dishes, mugs and relevant cutlery, plus any cooking utensils we thought we'd use, and left them out on the side for the duration of our stay. If we took anything else out of the cupboard to use, I washed it first. Of course, we put all away clean and tidy when we left. I agree, though, you just never know.

I forgot to mention when I posted yesterday, while Mr LW was being operated on, I was munching on a singularly vile frog - I did my tax return!:rotfl:

I haven't done a vast amount today - some washing (still those dratted side-effects:(), seen to Jessie's needs obviously (which doesn't actually count as work, as she's delightful), eaten a frog that was in danger of drawing it's old-age pension - cleaned the oven, and mowed the back lawn so that it's easier to find and pick up the poo.
Mr LW has watched the first Hobbit film, "An Unexpected Journey" and is currently glued to "The Desolation of Smaug".:o

Dins tonight is the 2nd half of the quiche I made yesterday, followed by blackberry crumble, also made yesterday; so that's easy.:o

Short Bird I hope your move goes smoothly and is stress-free. When's the flat-warming party?:D
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

Sounds to me as though you are sailing through Lamewolf. I am seriously impressed with how you're coping because I know you were worried it would overwhelm you. My laptop is playing up, so I can't do jumping with joy, angel and clapping emoticons, but I tried, several times to do all of them for you.

Shower room sparkly, superking changed and sparkly and I may, just may, finish the dy$oning, but then again, I might not. It's holiday time and it's sunny and I'm catching up on reading.
    Better is good enough.
