Oh Bossy I am almost crying with laughter here. Enjoy these times, very special!

Well the only things done from the list was clearing the top of the bedside tables. Paid stuff was stupid manic and will be tomorrow, but I'm hoping if it stays dry overnight to at least be able to cut the grass tomorrow morning. Do you ladies think after 8am is acceptable in the holidays?

Night night everyone. Time to wind down and read a book.

I can't believe it is nearly 9pm, I haven't stopped all day. Grass cut, back garden watered, trillion of plums swept up, washing all in.

Need to finish washing up, bathroom is only half cleaned and huge pile of ironing still to do.

Amazed I've not had any jet lag.

o pigpen, it sounds like you are having a tough time - I hope it all calms down soon.

I've taken washing in and sorted it out, and managed to produce an edible and fairly hot (in parts) dinner, and washed up and put the dishwasher on. I've also fed all 3 gerbils and let them all out for a play (not that easy when none of the 3 of them are allowed to play with each other, and 2 of them keep climbing on top of the 3rd ones tank, and then they try and get at each other through the wire). Also worked out a budget for the month - now I need to write it all in my book and move money around, but i am getting there.

I'm now off to watch the tv, and even iron if i can find the energy, by which time the dishwasher should be ready to be unloaded before I'm off to bed. Night everyone

Then DS decided it was a good time to ask how cancer makes you die!!! What a lovely afternoon  this is after he asked yesterday about the "seeds" in his "tezdicals" and how he was supposed to get it out to share them with someone :rotfl:

Biology lesson for a 5yr old anyone?

DS is 4 and a half, and I have always kept reproduction conversations factual but age appropriate. Bossy, like you I talk in terms of seeds and eggs, I had a surprise the other week when DS said "Daddy said this is my ball, but I know there are TWO balls in there!" He then went on to ask how the seeds get to meet the egg with 101 questions along the way to clarify.

I told him, when he is grown up enough to grow a beard, his ball works like a factory all the time to make millions and millions of seeds that look like really tiny beansprouts and they stay in the ball until he decides he wants to become a Daddy and his wife wants to become a Mummy.

Then his body turns off the tap to the wee wee coming out and switches the tap on to let all the millions of seeds come out. The seeds then play hide and seek with the Mummy's egg, if a seed finds the egg that seed is the Winner and they squash together and start making a baby grow.

Because the Mummy egg is much smaller than a chickens egg it is as small as a sprinkle on an icecream sometimes even though the seeds look really hard they can't find the egg, so no seed becomes a winner and the game of hide and seek is over until the next time and no baby gets made.

His body turns the seed tap off and his wee tap back on until the next time.

The Mummy's egg factory takes a lot longer to get another egg ready for another game of hide and seek, she only gets 12 eggs a year ready to play hide and seek so they are all very special.

At this point DS was satisfied with no more questions

Good luck with little Man Moo :)

Right flying and wrestling with the BD has taken place in equal measure....builders are here still, DD1 has been a godsend as she has kept them in supply of drinks and putting power tools onto recharge etc

Every room is now in semi organised chaos, as I am treating it as though I am moving and moving back in .....and I am degibbling and recycling so much toot. I have been throwing lots of 99p's at this house for storage and the plan is when there is "a place for everything....and everything in its place" I will take a 5 minute video of each room showing where everything belongs one as a reminder to me when the BD is snapping at me that I can do this flying stuff, 2, if I should forget where I have hidden something, I can make a brew, relax sit and watch the video and then go back and find it straight away, 3, the bigger younger Skints will watch the video and follow the rules so they don't have to keep asking me where to find stuff and have no excuse not to put away after themselves.

If I decide after a while that I want to change something, I can just make a new video and share it with the kids and saves me have to explaining over and over and over.

Right time for me to crack on.......off to kitchen first I think and make some headway before the group BD appt at 10

    Morning all

Skinty hope you got some sleep.

Cloudy here but no rain yet, going to put WM on and see if I can get a load dry and put DW on. Then the rest of the post holiday flying.

  • Thanks Dusty, I actually got 5 good hours in until 3 am when I woke myself up.....builders will arrive just before 8, so I doubt I will get much done.........

Been working since just after 4.....DW is loaded, but not enough to set it off yet. Sink is having a bleachy bubble bath. Things slowly going to their new homes, but it still looks chaotic here. Half of my BR has been degibbled ready to hoover when the household is awake. Made some more positive storage decisions.....I think I might have to make a Skinty hack list to organise when I am done....and then make them pretty!

Right sitting down with a brew for 20 minutes then when the alarm goes off, I am getting back on it for 45 mins when builders should be arriving

Morning all :) I have given up on lists for the week now - today is all about getting ready for hols tomorrow :) (still involves some washing and ironing but only other housework is tidying and standard kitchen stuff with a vacuum through tonight ready for leaving the morrow :)

LW - glad Mr W is home and you are coping :) x

Bossy - got to love the smallies! My 8 yo asked me earlier this year 'What's fgm?' - how to explain the atrocity of female genital mutilation to an 8 year old.......?!?!?! We managed... but it was an 'interesting' conversation, to say the least!

Not sure if I'll get back on - hugs, sticks and spoons where needed :) See you for the thread the week after next :)

    xx
