I love The Lord of the rings trilogy! I could watch it again and again, I have the box set which my DH bought me some years ago.
Still, he must be improving; he's currently sat in front of his pc playing "The Witcher" (for the uninitiated, it's a sword'n'sorcery role-playing game).:o
I'm a bit  at the jolly old sex ed conversations - I have a strange feeling the 5-yr-olds are better informed than I am!:rotfl:Oh boy, am I glad I never had to do those type of questions, it'd have been "hang on, I'll find out and get back to you.....":rotfl:
Mummyroysof3 re packing - I have a "master list" on a spreadsheet, with eight columns - one for my clothes, one for Mr LW's, one for shared stuff and toiletries, and another for miscellaneous things that don't fit in the other three. The other four columns are "tick" columns next to each of the lists, if that makes sense, so that I can tick things on the screen without printing out the list if I want. I copy the master list and tweak it for the particular holiday we're going on, and tick things off as they're packed; I can also highlight or change the colour of the lettering if something (for instance) needs to be bought, or needs repairing before it's packed, or is "nice to have but not vital". It sounds complicated, but we find it works brilliantly; and means we don't forget vital things like medication!:o
Natty no advice - I have zero experience with youngsters; but I wish you all the luck in the world, and hope your niece isn't too demanding.:o
Piggers  @ Pixie being a year old already. Flippin' 'eck, it doesn't seem 5 minutes since you were expecting Squeak!:DIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Natty, I have no advice at all other than, Have you asked her what she'd like to do?Better is good enough.0

The issue is me and hubby disagree on packing lol I've been packing some stuff as I remember such as kitchen stuff like washing up stuff and toilet roll. I pack foil and a cleaning spray cos if I'm cooking sausages I want the grill pan to be easy to clean cos it's my holiday too, already slumming it with no dishwasher lol. Kids take a few toys and with 5 towels and swim kits and bed guard and blackout blind and nappies I've already filled a case before I started on clothes arghHave a Bsc Hons open degree from the Open University 2015 :j:D:eek::T0

I have just woken from a very long sleep and I feel quite a bit better, I got up and went downstairs to see where everyone was... I wish I hadn't of bothered the house is a scruffy horrible mess. My OH is a total minger.
There is clothes and cups and toys and paper and pens and shoes everywhere.
Kitchen stinks.
Bathroom smells worse.
I have no clean underwear...or socks...or tops...or pants. Oh well I am going to have to borrow a pair of boxers and make a start. (The house is empty tho no kids/OH/Dogs I wonder where they are)
I am off to print the lists and do them as best as I can then catch up with thread0 -

Mr LW is happy to leave all the organising to me; the only difficulty I have is getting him to make up his mind which shirts/t-shirts he's taking, and, for instance, if he's taking four trouser-type garments, how many are to be chinos and how many jeans.:D
Good luck.:oIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Torrential downpour here just now, the guttering couldn't cope, it was like a waterfall flying off the kitchen roof! doesn't seem to have dislodged anything (other than muck) though. NDN is out trying to set a fence post. He's drenched.
mummyroys just agree to disagree - let him pack his own stuff and you carry on regardless.
I think you do need extra stuff for younger kids, the majority of stuff I will be taking is anything but clothes
Upstairs is all vacced, dusted and bathrooms cleaned. The beds have all been changed this week and DD has had a nap - she still looks kn@ckered and is being a little moo, I wonder if she's sickening for something
More stuff is being amassed in the garage and the kids have packed their "essentials" toolol DD has fairy wings and plastic fluffy mules, DS has a dinosaur teddy, a whistle and some loom bands :rotfl:
We have found the torches and batteries, plus our wind-up bits. I could do with a box for food bits and I'll dig out the cool bag for morning.
I think I'm done flying now other than kitchen dailies.
Happy Birthday for tomorrow, Pixie!Bossymoo
Away with the fairies :beer:0 -

My thinking is as long as it fits in car then who cares lol. We have compromised as his issue was me taking lots of small bags so we got some bigger suitcases so we have less bags but bigger lol. God knows how I managed when had double buggy and steriliser and travel cot to get in lol. I've packed some more bits and wrote a list of last minutiae bits to remember. Have also booked a tesco shop for day after we get back lolHave a Bsc Hons open degree from the Open University 2015 :j:D:eek::T0

No rain here so washing all dried, DS2 made tom soup and has gone on his riving lesson, DS1 has gone back to work, DS3 eating the soup.
Natty no advice but I think it is a lovely thing to do for your sister, mine has never had any of mine for even an hour and they are 12,18 and 20!
Off to get the washing in and remake DS3's bed.The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0
