Ladies - leaving men 'jobs' to do

I write lists.
I write lists for me and after trial and error DH ASKED me to compile lists for him for the weekend.
We talk about the lists before hand, through the week. They are NOT me leaving a demeaning list of instructions! they are me responding to his request to make it easier for him to prioritise here.
Some times they have more on them than is possible because they have options for if it rains or if it doesn't. Fwiw, it cuts both ways here, I'm not offended if he asks me to add things to my lists.
Part of this isn't the list is the work load. People do different things in free time, and its up to them to decide if it works for them or not, and one weekend may or may not be representative. My DH works really hard all weekend in our house, and we struggle to keep 'relax' balance up because there is always something to do at our house. But people are different , if he/we do DIY for twelve/q6 hours a day at the weekend and others never do any doesn't mean either is right or wrong.0 -
My OH asked me to write lists for him as he forgets or doesn't see things that need doing. He's very wiling to help but needs a bit of guidance. I try to keep it to a couple of things only though!LBM 11/06/2010: DFD 30/04/2013Total repaid: £10,490.310

I usually e-mail my OH in the morning with what needs done that day.
At the moment I am doing a six day 45 hour week and he works four days a week from home. So he does some housework after work each day whilst I am on my walk home and the bigger stuff on a Friday. He prefers me to let him know what needs done as he really tends not to "see" what needs done :rotfl:
This will change after the season though as if I don't find a job straight away I'll take over all the chores. Better get hunting for a winter job :eek:0 -
Mum sometimes does this. But dad works fewer hours than mum.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

Came in from work the next day and he proudly told me he had done the hoovering "for me".
I once said that to my Mrs when she came in, she replied..
'I know because the hoovers been moved'
So now I just move the hoover
My wife has a 'to do' list for herself but she wouldn't dream of writing one for me.
I occasionally write on hers though, mainly I add 'make hobnobs' to it and sometimes it works!0 -
Sometimes I write a little note for my husband if he's off and I'm at work. But it would normally just be a job or two that really need doing and we've not found time. He doesn't mind, usually when I go to say bye he asks me if I've left him any notes. I think he usually does the stuff but it wouldn't be a major problem if he didn't for any reason.0

I would find it incredibly embarrassing if my wife felt she had to leave me lists of things to get do round the house when she's out0

i leave a list if I am at work, OH works long shifts so is only at work for 7 out of 14 days. I dont put loads on the list, but it might be hang washing out, get milk if you go to the shops if you are not going text me and I iwll get it on way home, remind DS ot put his washing on the landing before I gte in from work
Nothing major usually but I leave for work at 6:30am and he is usually still asleep so I just write a note/list0 -
I wouldn't write OH a list as I'd feel like I was patronising him, but I will leave him the odd note (at his request!) if there's something specific that he's planning to do but there's something that he'll need to remember - for example, he'll put the washing on, but I will leave a note reminding him of the cycle and temperature just to prevent everything being boil washed on the longest cycle!0
