No, it is right we do not know how it was delivered because the OP has not been back to tell us but obviously it has caused upset and tears and it is not the facts ie the 3 stone gain it is always going to be the way it was said, I will give you an eg like fbaby says in her post about bad breath is the other person supposed to put up and shut up about it and carry on kissing? Well no but yet again it is the way it was said not the breath itself.0

When my DH kisses me on Friday I say ' you had coconut juice/wine/vegetable juice on the train' its a sort of a joke that I can tell. The other week he had some dodgy breath and I said not ' eww your breath smells, yuck, but ' are you ok, have you any tooth or tummy ache or anything?)0 -

I meant how one should dress it up for realization that one's husband does not fancy her not to hurt. You basically saying to shoot the messenger ..The word "dilemma" comes from Greek where "di" means two and "lemma" means premise. Refers usually to difficult choice between two undesirable options.
Often people seem to use this word mistakenly where "quandary" would fit better.0 -

But then surely he'd ask you why you were asking him that? Isn't it just easier to tell him straight in the first place?
I'm not suggesting you come straight out with "Ewww your breath absolutely stinks!" There are more tactful ways of doing it. For instance my DH drinks a lot of strong coffee. I have no qualms about telling him he has coffee breath and that he needs to brush his teeth.0 -

I think you and lostin are both agreeing the same thing, you telling your OH he has coffee breath is very inoffensive on the other hand saying for eg as lostin says "ew your breath stinks" is:)0 -

The point is my first concern wasn't his breath, it was him. As it turned out he'd had an iffy stomach. The next week it developed in to a seriously iffy stomach. ( his boss's son had. Stomach bug and ibis boss is sure it was that, I think its that they eat too much take out sushi in the heat, forty minutes on the back of a delivery bike cannot help raw fish). Now his stomach and his breath are back to normal.0 -

No, my point is different, slightly. Though agree with that point too.
My point is his breath was less a concern to me than his health. It was not a usual issue, far from it. I love his breath.
. And that something was wrong with it made me concerned for him not revolted by him, I thought not, omg don't touch me, but , does he need to see a doctor or a dentist, is he ok?
Bad breath would have been a sign of some sort of issue that needed sorting out.0 -
