And looking at it this way you could say that it is women who are stupid fire being too sensitive and not value honesty from their partner.

Exactly. I'd hate it if my husband wasn't honest with me regarding the subject of looks/outfits/haircuts etc. what's the point in p*ssy footing around the subject.

Here's what I think - men are stupid and don't know what they say might hurt others. They really don't. know.

Men have brains just as women do, and unless they are cognitively impaired in some way they are perfectly capable of understanding the impact their words have on others.

Saying 'oh they're just stupid, bless them' is not only a very insulting generalisation about 50% of the population (and the 50% that does most of the running of the world too!) it completely lets them off the hook by suggesting they aren't capable of better so can get away with behaving cruelly and thoughtlessly.

My husband said he didn't find me attractive either. Just before i discovered he'd been having an affair for 8 months.

I kicked him out. I had put on weight, BUT, i was still the same person he had married, just a different shape.

His loss, my gain. I'm still the same shape now 12 years later but can't tell you how much happier i am. He's on his own now, i have no idea whether he's happier or not, i don't really care.

Has anyone else noticed that stories of this ilk always tend to go: "I got rid of him when things went downhill, now he's a total loser and i'm mega ultra happy -that showed him, ha!!!".
There's three such examples on this thread alone :rotfl:

It's not insulting at all. Men (generally speaking) are far too intelligent to be insulted by being called stupid in this context.

Men generally speaking are all individuals, with varying levels of intelligence.

Silly gender related generalisations are always silly.
