Mistral001 great idea. just need to find a willing 3rd person LOL. But really it is a great idea.
So far its been a quiet week, genuinely needing to put the phone down on her seems to have worked. I do feel a sadnrss about this as she must feel that it was an excuse on my part. However, nothing i can do about that so move on.0 -
Thought I'd post a quick update. About a month ago I was quite stressed about something else [ our income has reduced a lot and I needed to make cutbacks] and was doing lots of housework to help me through the day and also I tend to think if I'm occupied and was looking for a solution.
There was a knock at the door and it was my "friend". In she came and the conversation started amicably enough. I carried on working. After a while she started what I call the MeMeDrivel. She was going on and on and on and on about some bl**dy Win a Horse competition she'd entered and how she thought the answers wernt right. She droned on and on and on her voice getting higher and higher all of it rubbish if you ask me and I'm sick to death of her saying she's broke when she goes on holiday abroad, has riding lessons, runs a car and a horsebox and hunts all winter! [ on and although shes in her 60's and older than me both her and her husbands mothers are both alive and they are expecting sizable inheritances from them]Her mother also gives her £3,000 a year every year at the moment so she can keep hunting apparently.
Neither me nor my DH have parents , they all passed away a long time ago when we were comparatively young. I havent got enough money for the heating oil which needs replenishing come October and we are trying to save so DH may be able to retire a little earlier than at 67 [ hes a lorry driver]
Anyway I just blew my stack. I shouted "YOU ARE TALKING RUBBISH"
Oh goodness, there was silence. Then an bit of forced talk from her then she left.
Oh Joy.
Its been quiet since.
I've since heard from others that shes done similar to them and always goes too far.
Interestingly her husband has since started letting on with a wave and a smile as he drives past if he sees me or my husband, He detests the horses. I think shes told him what I said. Maybe he agrees!0
