Morning, thank you for the kind words. I am feeling a lot better this morning, thank you. I've started the day with a slightly more dynamic Callanetics work out so I'm feeling good.
Dolly84, I used to do Avon and had a customer that always wanted to send stuff back and wouldn't listen to suggestions, I did quietly drop her!
Spend day today, we are doing the rest of our shopping for the month so I'm oddly excited at the prospect!
Have a good day everyone!Squirrelling away in September No 33It's not about the money, it's about financial freedom, being in control of it and living in the natural world and not a material world0 -
Morning All...
Well can you believe I got to the train station FREE due to a neighbour giving me a lift. Now I have to just get myself home and that would be a saving of another £2.90. I REALLY don't want to pay any more but can't for the life of me think where that stupid bus pass has gone.
Mooomin - Yes kitties can be easily duped although I tried that when I bought it and she wouldn't go near it. This time I threw Dreamies inside - she went to get them. Second time I did it, just before I left, she refused to go in. So she got gently pushed..:o:o
Mr Cobes - what's this cough all about? I didn't realize sinusitis does that to you. Hope you had a better nights sleep last night..
MrsGSR - glad you feel better this morning though....
Anyway... I have more groceries to pick up today which will see me through until Tuesday next week. Planning a big cook-a-thon today.. bread, spanikopita(vegan), brine for a Vietnamese Pho, Thai green (freezable) curry, crackers, humus and baba ghanoush - if I have time.
Right - more from me later no doubt...“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent".0 -

Afternoon all!
Another SFD for me so far, only lunchtime, but I'm sure I'll be fine for rest of the day. Could do with some more salt and oil, but sure I'll cope! Messed up a little, forgot my box of cereal, so had to munch my apple and banana for breakfast. Now just had my tuna rice salad for lunch and could really fancy something not-so-healthy...
Luckily though, I've not brought my wallet to work again, so unless I borrow some money, which I'm not going to, I cant go and raid the machine for some crispys :-)
In the interest of full accuracy, going to revise my signature, as by the rules Sunday was spending day, even if leftover from weekend, and Monday was grocery shopping, which is technically a spend as well - so the only days that are TRUE sfd's are today and yesterday.
Managed a 3 miles walk last night, although I'm not sure I'm going to count this either because it was less of a power walk, more of an amble, and stopped for a gossip on the way! Try for 5 miles tonight after work, the OH is back late anyway... so no excuses... the dog will thank me for it at least.
Suppose I should get on the scales and see just how much weight I've piled on since packing up the ciggies 9 months ago... at least a stone. I really don't want to know!!

Glad you are feeling better MrsGSR
Glad you got the train station for free NSK, that's a great MSE achievement.
Well done on all the exercise everyone. Today is my day off the gym and running. Was hoping to walk the dogs but its so rainy that its not really worth the mess (4 dogs).
Today should be SFD number 3No plans to go anywhere (I'm in my onesie already

Aching when I woke up so thought I would ease into the day by reading and then a nice gentle 9.30 am start - had misread the clock, it was actually 1/4 to 6am. So dug soil from raised bed to fill 3 x 31 litre tubs (log basket size). Managed to use the spade for a bit, first with poorly leg (using good leg to balance) and then the other way round - but held onto the shed and then the washing line for extra stability.
Filled 2 tubs with the dwarf beans - checked that the roots had made it to the bottom of the toilet rolls first, then 2 with peas (1 tub already filled - i can count). Then planted 3 sacks with carrot seed and found a large plant pot to take the remaining dwarf beans. Brought some nearly dry washing in as it was starting to rain and by then it was 9.30am. Then had a nap - not sure if it was the exercise, not enough sleep or 2 much sugar. I am trying to ration the cereal from the food parcel - discovered chocolate curls half way down (on the picture but didn't find any at first) but between that and the fruit juice (delicious but only allowed a tiny amount - doing my best to make it last 10 days, probably be 8 or 9).
Have made rice salad, carrot cake and jam tarts. The jam (another high sugar item) was from the food parcel, the pastry cases I bought in January - they were sold as 'make your own mince pie kits', ys'd to 10p a pack. The other ones I have had with unsweetened stewed baking apples (tiny ones mum cadged and I peeled -after 2 days she let me take a third bag home) but I have none left. I am going to freeze the tarts individually and try to only have one a week. Carrot cake smells delicious but is going to be cut up and frozen unsampled - may need a treat to get me through later in the month.
I did extra by again drying and putting away each piece of crockery individually. I have 2 kitchen chairs in the middle of the kitchen - I have been using them to put bags on for unpacking and to sit and look in the fridge and freezer. Today I did alternate clockwise and anti-clockwise circuits, so that even for items going in the cupboard adjacent to the sink I did a lap of the kitchen.
Need to put the baked goods away when cool. Leg is tired now, so possibly tomorrow tasks are cleaning the kitchen, bathroom painting - managed to stand on a chair today for the first time in months (only about 10 minutes work but it will have over 2 days to dry before DS3 comes back - if I can re-do the bath seal as well that would be great as that is best left to cure for 48 hours) and would like to fill another 3 large tubs with soil (but even one a day is okay). Will also need to start getting things inside - shouldn't really be a problem, ah weather brightening up again now so just keep bringing things in as they dry.
Keep hopping June Bugs - even if it is only round the kitchen. Just remembered - had a dance round the bedroom last night, Chumbawumba.:j:j:j(not me yet but a lot nearer than I was).My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
Glad you're feeling better MrsGSR - my mum has MS so I know a little of how you feel.
Today wasn't an NSD, my groceries have gone up to £7.38/£160, my shop for next week is ordered and should come to around £26 so I'm pleased with that. I just need to order the dog's insulin and my spending for the week should be done.
Today was also a no binge day (3/20) so I'm pretty happy with that. Extra activity limited but I did run everywhere when I was outside due to the pouring rain and no coat!
Our greatest weakness lies in giving up; always try just one more time0
