Finally another NSD, but only 20 out of 24 so must try harder - probably my report for the whole month:rotfl:

Good day on the whole. Flashes of pain but woke with enough bits aching to think a slightly slower pace for today might be a wise move. Lots of sorting/ tidying/ reducing and filed my tax assessment and working tax renewal on-line (only mildly frustrating when the HMRC system wasn't available the first time and then kept timing me out mid-way through the final submission seconds before I got to press the final button).

So 6pm and I could so easily have drifted off to sleep but no still six hours of this challenge left yet. I have :-

Painted the top of a window frame (covering old fitment marks), u/c part of a door frame (had to be sanded back to accommodate door) and painted all the below waist paneling in the tiny bedroom (spent yesterday convincing myself it would 'do'). Cut 9 lengths of wallpaper for the middle bit of the tiny bedroom (picture rail to paneling).

Filled two empty paint tins with broken bits of concrete, gathered two bags of rubbish from around the house and made it all fit in the bin without resorting to violence or swearing.

Written out the food cupboard/ fridge/ freezer inventory and added the ready meals I cooked the other day (6/12 left). Swept the windowsills (all seed trays gone), stacked all the 'mini-greenhouse' tops and sprayed some docks with weedkiller.

Put away all clean clothes (all is now a relative term in relation to my wardrobe), underwear + towels and toilet rolls (left some out on the landing +shampoo etc so that no-one had any reason to touch the bathroom cupboard while the paint was drying). Written a card and wrapped a present for a July birthday.

LESSONS FROM THIS MONTH Keep learning. Keep thinking. Keep planning. Never stop trying. (Even if you 're not going to make it, even if it seems impossible - just keep going).

Thank you for the kind words AppleMuncher. However I have failed this month - my overall debt has increased. I have just made two payments (DS2 asked me to pay his Council tax but gave me the cash - can only make card payments at the town hall now) so the increase is now only a few pounds more than the water rates payment I made. Haven't altered my signature as I think I can get it back to where it should be within the week.

However I can't guarantee that it will decrease in the next two months so I will be temporarily bowing out of this challenge. Love the new challenge, will be following all your progress and attempting to put the principles into practice but I have to get this house up for sale. I am hoping the physiotherapist will discharge me tomorrow and I can forge ahead (hoping to do papering, sort the curtain rail and carpet [cadged a piece 33" x 15'6" from mum] tiny bedroom tomorrow as need both boys to wrestle the bed back into place). I need to put some energy into making some extra money (hope staying active will reduce the need for specific exercises) but house has to be the priority. I can't do everything myself without ever spending any money - even the comparatively modest paint and weedkiller spends this month totaled more than £37.

Sorry this is so long. Love the challenges. Love you all and wish you every success but the focus of this challenge is to pay off and reduce debt and my need to sell the house (which will ultimately achieve that) may temporarily divert me from reducing my debt - if I have the energy I will start a diary and you can all read about the exciting things I have been doing all day.

Well a very good evening to you all and a last post from me...

Busy day for me though... a visit to the local Home Buys for my stock of beauty bits (£13), Tesco for my food stock for the week and a gym session of at least 1 hour .... food has been made for tomorrow and bike is ready to go.

There is no going back now as I have a key fob for the cycle cage at my local station. I have to carry so much though.. I am gearing up for this so don't worry!..

See you all in July! I am pooped!!!

hiya. I did turn up but sadly this month has been a bit of a disaster.

We did not add to the xmas pot (will fix that in july). Ended up being pretty much broke by the third week. Had to borrow off the bank of mum and dad, much to my dismay.

However, had a great holiday. The hotel was a bit too posh for me and I am still not a lover of all-inclusive, just sit around all day holidays.
Festival was amazing, as always... so I ended up buying my ticket for next year.

Anyways... enough "facepalm" moments for this month, roll on July.

  • I learned that we spend far too much on food. I'm £200 over budget!

I met my SFD target but not exercise, due to a cold and sore throat which is still lingering.

Thank you NSK for this challenge. I'm off to see the July challenge.
