Thanks for the water meter suggestion but I have already had the survey and it should have been installed this week (I think). It's going on the outside bit so they said I didn't need to be in when they came so i didn't bother to put it in my diary.

So NSD number 19 and a very busy day. Have been thinking about anything that will aid leg recovery so added an extra sheet (was only using 1 sheet over me but it has been a bit colder and wondered if dropping temperature in the middle of the night was causing stiffness) and adjusted pillows so that I am nearly flat (if poor sleeping position was to blame).

Started the day with the modified (very gentle) squats - it's quite soothing if I pretend I am riding an imaginary horse and just rising and falling in the saddle with the movement.

My aim for today and tomorrow is to clean the French windows (glass and frame) and other windows at the back and side of the house and scrub all the flagging. However this means moving everything on the flags on to the 'grass' (weed proof membrane at the moment).

My initial target was to move 6 large 'pots' (some tubs/ some potato/ tomato/ herb sacks but all roughly the same size and too big to lift or drag. I adopted the following routine - put pot onto dolly truck, do stretch using corner of shed, circuit of garden collecting weeds/ rubbish, return to dolly truck, move truck and pot into position and repeat.

At close of play I have moved 22 large containers + multiple smaller pots, plastic shelves, ceramic pots, plastic bread trays, paint trays and rollers. I have just been down to put a second load of washing in the machine - ended up pegging the first lot out and spent an hour sawing a large item of rubbish to fit in the bin. If it rains tomorrow I will cry. Want all the washing out on the line as I want to spread the stuff on the flags and leave it to work for a couple of hours and I don't want to walk across it and bring it into the house on my boots - think at the front I wore my wellies and left them on a piece of cardboard just inside the door.

Really pleased with myself - stopped for water and snacks (carrots and blackcurrants) at regular intervals but wasn't expecting to get this far. Have even left space to water the borders and dig out the remaining raised bed. Once everything is clean I can start putting things into position - but one step at a time.
My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.

I don't understand this statement - why does his eating habits dictate yours? He is gluten intolerant yes?

Could you not make him veggie dishes and place a chicken breast on top or something - however was it you who had a slightly ungrateful OH who refused to realise how hard non-gluten baking was...?

I can see how this added element might be frustrating for you - but trust me it's worth it...

Um no, you must be thinking of someone else.

I guess my statement must have annoyed you to get this reply.

MagicCat - I wholeheartedly agree with applemuncher, if you want a family just go ahead and have one. You will never feel in the right position financially and could end up waiting for ever. My eldest is 10 now and we went from 2 good full time salaries to one and a bit of part time work for me. Apart from being a bit silly with money for the last couple of years we have always managed very well and even though we are clearing our debt we still do lots of fun family stuff. Don't let your finances hold you back.

I agree with this too. We are actually better off financially since having the children because we manage our money better. Had we waited to be debt free completely we would still be waiting.

Today I am grateful for plasters, for little bells I found in my craft stuff, for dd picking up the tennis jargon, for cuddles, for a fully working can-opener.

I've made it to 16 NSD :j so with a few days left, I may get even higher.

Was looking at banking bumf with dh and pointed out that we've paid over £8k off the mortgage so far this year, and the impact that has had on the monthly interest. But we are still paying about £800 per year in interest, which gives him motivation to keep paying it down, as it effectively negates one month's payment.

    :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek: - WHY???

As an avid vegan and staunch believer in plant power why on earth are you introducing meat into your diet..? Never mind the spends I need to know the answer to this........... :o

It's for health. When I lived with my parents and had fresh fruits, vegetables and time to make green smoothies, exercise and eat whenever I wanted, I felt great. Plus fresh air and no stress. But my memory started getting worse. Found a good quality (expensive) B12 supplement, so that's been solved. Later I had to take other expensive supplements as well. Then after 3 years I was curious to test the theory that meat is poisonous to your body and vegans would get sick after trying it. Had some chicken. Felt a boost of energy and satiety - to my sad surprise... So I thought, what's the point... For a year I've been eating a very small amount of meat but now I am trying to eat more of it as it makes me feel so good! No more digestive enzymes or supplements... Paleo diet on a trial. It's against all of my beliefs and I still feel disgusted when preparing meat but my body thinks differently.

I became a vegetarian for ethical reasons, so that makes it even harder for me. Oh well...life. :(

If it works for you and your body then fair enough. It's obviously having a positive effect on you.
Having two fussy children and husband for me it's easier to go with the crowd! I do believe you have to do what works for you. When we go out or away to festivals I generally always have the veggie option, my husband thinks I'm weird but I get quite excited by a homemade veggie burger:rotfl:
I know many may not agree with me because no matter what way you look at it it's still the meat industry but I do go for decent meat not value stuff, I always buy eggs locally and I don't use honey anymore.

    Good morning all,

Still nice and sunny at the moment here, but thunder forecast later, such a shame!

Applemuncher, Dolly and MRSGSR, thank you very much for your comments, much appreciated to hear your point of view, and gives me a lot to think about. I know it must sound really premature talking about whether or not to choose to start a family when I don't know if it is physically possible for me - I know it's not easy to fall preganant so I don't mean to offend anyone who is/has found it hard.

10.10 spent on petrol yesterday (why I can never get an exact figure I never know!), aiming for another NSD today. Roll on payday and planning for next month!

It's interesting to hear about everyones veggie/vegan/meat food preferences. I'm veggie, OH isn't - but is most of the time as I do the cooking! Like you MRSGSR, if I do get meat for him I try to get the more local produced meat from the butchers as I feel happier with that.

Tis each to their own I guess. However if you feel disgusting and it's against all your beliefs perhaps the way you were eating before wasn't correct and some more research would have helped more - and yes some vegetarians / vegans don't eat right - not enough people pay attention to food combining / which food should be eaten properly etc .

Supplements apart from B12 are not needed - but then again everyone's body reacts differently. Good luck on your journey.

This made me chuckle. I made some great kidney bean ones the other day that actually stayed together - shame I forgot seasoning and they were SO bland. I got distracted by my LL who likes to "watch" me while I cook which I find very very off-putting a little creepy. :o
