    Hello.

I apologise for the length of time it has taken me to come back on here, it has been pretty hectic since the holiday finished.

I have tried to be good (but have not exactly been successful at it). Have a grand total of 14 spend-free days, however the next seven shall be forced as we only have about £2 left in the pot.
    :o

Music festival was brilliant and as a result, I have booked my ticket and campervan pass for next year already. Sorry NSK but it helps keep me sane throughout the year knowing that I have the festival to look forward to.
    :(

My credit card is now down into the £3000s which is pretty good I think. My dad is a bit disappointed but I am still hoping to clear it by December. I think it is a good thing after all, I could still be pre-LBM and spending a fortune.
    :undecided

I have started trying to read through the thread but obviously, with work (did an extra shift), trying to sort out the house after the holiday and recovering from the holiday (I got a bug we think and my mood played up), it's been slow going.
I am determined to thank every post though... so bear with me.
    ;)

Due to my broke-ness, I am most definitely back to full interaction for July and as I said, I apologise for my lack of posting.

I hope everyone is doing okay. Big hugs for the junebugs.

Don't count it then. I personally don't see a point in having a target for NSD after trying this challenge.

    Why not? ....

Cut down sugar - gave up

Do you mean you cut down on sugar and seeing as you were doing so well you decided to give it up altogether OR gave up trying to cut down on sugar..?

I tried to cut down on sugar but failed in my attempt so am eating it as I normally do. I don't guzzle gallons of fizzy drinks or bags of haribo or anything I just tend to collect weight around my middle and cutting out sugar is supposed to help. I am not overweight just a bit flabby around the middle.

I may attempt it again but I need a better strategy than I had, which was just give it a go.

Hi all. Well today was hard going as I've come down with a UTI :( At least now I know why I have not felt myself these last couple of days. I did spend today. Holland and Barrel have a bogof deal and I always use these to stock up on my sons cream. At over £10 a throw, it makes sense. I also got some fruit and tissue this evening. In total I spent around 22.00. However the guy at afterschool club charged me 14.00 less as I came early the last two fridays :T So I have £10 for my 365 in 365 days challenge :D Next month is an unavoidable tight month, so I am trying to not spend much.

Stewby, I totally understand needing things to get you through :)

Because sometimes I don't need anything but I see a bargain and this NSD challenge stops me from getting it or makes me feel guilty if I do.

I see it helps other people not to overspend but for me it's just not very practical.

Today is another NSD, so nearly there. I do like the feeling of being in control that it gives me. Plus the challenge of thinking ahead and planning, or waiting to buy something another day.

And today I am grateful for the downpour of rain that has given the garden a good drink, for ca1po1 doing its stuff, for being able to help a colleague out, for home-made chips(!), for chilled water.

    Evening all,

I love SFDs :) My spending would be much worse without them. The last two days are great examples. I have not spent anything on either day, simply because I wanted to collect them as SFDs. Both days I could quite easily have bought chocolate (so it helps my diet too) and yesterday I was hankering after some blackout curtain liners but decided I would buy them next weekend, after payday (so they don't need to go on the ccard) and mainly so they wouldn't ruin an otherwise SFD. I'm still cross I lost a SFD for a 20p Freddo on Saturday!

Today has been SFD number 14. Hoping tomorrow will be 15 and Thursday or Friday will be 16 :)

No exercise today as I was at work and have since done marking all evening (really excited to get paid from this in the near future).

I also don't feel I have done very much today - although first half of the day tired me out so slept for several hours.

Took the long way to physiotherapy - into town to return library books and then to the infirmary. Meant to call at DS2's for a drink of water but was worried about the time. Drank 4 cups when I arrived - when they built the new block they had all these water machines but after the first few months they were always out of cups/ water or both. Someone must have complained as I noticed a little girl getting a drink when I was waiting to see the doctor last week.

Physio asked why I wasn't walking properly before we even got to his cubicle - last time I was doing so well I practically skipped in. He had been expecting to discharge me today. So we tested various bits - the original set of exercises which I have continued to do, show that I am much stronger than when I started and the massage I did last week worked as there were no knots (a bit of tension in places).

Bit disappointed as I wanted to be fixed - I know I have improved but there are so many things we normally take for granted that I still can't do or have to think about how I am going to do it - where do my feet go, is there something to hold on to, what if I get stuck. Spent 10 minutes on the phone to energy suppliers rep explaining precisely why I wasn't able to give them a meter reading (gas meter is next to the toilet in the under stairs 'cupboard' - you more or less have to lie on your side on the floor [in a space less than a foot wide] and look past the back of the toilet pan, if there is enough light and your glasses haven't fallen off, you can sometimes read the numbers). DS3 uses a light and a cd and reads it backwards but my glasses don't work at that angle either. Bending down or doing anything low level is still giving me problems - had to keep renewing a library book I suspected had fallen under the bed (it had) as it was weeks before I could actually get on the floor.

So carry on doing the exercises (and trying the ones I can't do - even getting leg into the starting position will help), next appointment 1st July and I am allowed to be more active (still no ladders).

Ate the eggs, apple and drink I had taken with me and decided to repeat the long walk home. No NSD day as I decided I wanted an ice cream (not had one for 2 and 1/2 years). Bought a 2l own brand diet decaff coke and some biscuits for DS3 (I ate some of his when he was away at weekend). Needed the treats as the last leg home was really tough - not sure where map book is but must have done 4 or 5 miles today - couldn't even get up the stairs when I got in.

Trying to draw up a list of which messes are aggravating me the most and develop a strategy for tackling them - just done a few little bits but they did involve stretching.

    Good morning June Bugs,

Well, yesterday was a SFD, and I'm hoping today will be too - possibly may need petrol, but hoping to eke it out until tomorrow. I'm another one who finds the SFD idea useful - blue_mango, I understand what you're saying, but I find for me the challenge of trying to keep a SFD means I plan my shopping better and thing about whether a bargain really is a bargain for me. Just because something is on special offer, and is a little cheaper doesn't mean I need it now, which has stopped me stockpiling so much (I am still working my way through some cleaning products and tinned foods!). Sometimes something is a really good bargain and worth it for me, so I happily sacrifice a SFD, but thinking about it rather than automatically spending has been really helpful for me. But I can see it doesn't work for everyone.

Mothernerd - sorry things haven't improved as much as you hoped with the physio, it sounds like you're getting an amazing amount of walking done even so!

Stewby - good to see you back

Traveller - hope you're feeling better soon

SiannieLaz - if you're reading, hope you're OK.

Nothing much happening with me today - work, then have borrowed mum's steam cleaner so planning to do a blitz of the kitchen floor - I'm hoping one clean surface will help me feel more cheery. Oh the excitement that is my life! Still no word from the builders, despite me leaving messages...

    Have a good day all.
