    Good Evening June Bugs,

First SFD today and another LTW day.

No exercise as really tired today. Very little sleep last night as one of the chickens went AWOL. She decided she wanted to sleep outside but where I have no idea. Spent a good half hour looking in every corner of the garden and shaking every bush but no chicken. Every time any of the dogs made a noise I was awake and checking to make sure the local fox was not in the garden. When we got up this morning checked out of the window and still no sign of her but 5 minutes later she was happily munching at grass in the garden without a care in the world. Now all the kids have grown up I thought that was the last of the sleepless nights, at least until the grand children arrive :rotfl: Although no exercise session I have been adding little extras such as using the stairs to my daily routines as and when possible. Small steps soon mount up :j

Really happy with my budgets at the moment although I need to increase the gifts budget from £90 to £100 as I completely forgot about cards for the month. I have a few days off in July so I am planning on making all of the cards for the rest of the year so I can save on the shop prices. Problem is I love cards.

Tomorrow should be a SFD, Saturday won't but Sunday should be so slowly getting there.

    Will update budgets tomorrow.

Forgot to mention that I had a phone call today from the managing agents for the flat I rent out to say that the washing machine had blown up

The tenants have a young baby and so it's an urgent issue for them. They think it is beyond repair so we said to go ahead and get a new one. As there are no drying facilities outside it needs to be a washer dryer so £350 for a new one. This will come off of this months rent which was already reduced due to the lease renewal fees. I had budgeted for the cost of the lease but not for the new appliance. Prior to these challenges this would have been a really big problem but with a little bit of juggling and possibly cashing in my beloved £2 coin collection (only about £70 as I started afresh in January and until this month I rarely used cash) I will be OK and will not need to go into overdraft of borrow anymore money :T

Thanks NSK This is a real bonus.

    Evening all

Spendy day today. Did a top up shop and got some reduced gf burgers and froze them ready for any bbqs in the summer. Also had a few frivolous spends; treats for work colleagues, lunch at work and kebab for tea! Not good for the pounds or the pounds!

Also didn't go to the gym as I felt so sluggish after all that food. I did walk the dogs and got in 13904 steps so far :)

Need to persevere and reduce spends and eating!

I use it as a body moisturiser for myself and my sons, as an intensive night facial moisturiser, in cooking, in bulletproof coffee (coffee with butter and coconut oil instead of milk), and I'm planning on using it as conditioner. I love the stuff!
You have actually encouraged me to try the bulletproof coffee so many people are mentioning online...it's awesome! I needed something like that on my new sugarless diet :)

Today was a no spend day for me and I also forced myself to do those 20min of exercising which turned into 40min as I started enjoying it :) And all thanks to this challenge. A good start, me thinks.
  • Hello peoples!

I am very late to this party and am happy to cheer from the sidelines if the warriors list has closed (have skimmed the thread but couldn't see). Apologies for disappearing on you in May - the cottage we went to in beautiful snowdonia had no wifi and no phone signal. This was in many ways bliss but cut me off from you all! The few days before we went got a bit manic - I have put an application in for a serious step up at work...a 5 digit pay rise!! I am not very hopeful but was strongly encouraged to have a go, so I thought best to try and then, if not successful, to use the feedback to work out where the gaps are in my experience that I'd need to find a different way of filling. Cue a couple of all nighters getting the application in. We now watch and wait.

Unfortunately there is a medical and fitness test looming and I have been mega lazy since my op earlier this year, so I am trying hard to get back into it all. Unfortunately I did find out that I need another op at some point in the next few months :( but hopefully it is quite straightforward.

So..targets are in my signature. I have had a lot of house expense in the last few days (gas safety stuff) and more to come over the next 4 months. Very happy that this will be saved for not going onto the CC, and should be able to continue to pay big chunks of the CC off through our second income. Heres to a heads down swotting, sweaty exercising kind of June!

PS thank you mothernerd for the gardening tips. Just what I need too!

    Evening all!

Busy last day at work today, lots to do before I have 10 days off. Knackered now. Managed an extra 15 min walk tonight to my sisters for a pizza evening :) ok, not totally healthy but was a pre planned night in with friends. £8 spent on lots of pizza, sides and cider.

I'm away from Saturday so hoping to get as much excercise in with walking while I'm away over the next week. Yoga still achieved for today. Tomorrow I have to battle with the cat while she goes to stay at the chattery for a week. It's lovely and she doesn't mind being there.......well I presume she likes it I can never get her in the box to come home. I'm also going to go swimming with my sister and nephew if I get time, if I don't I will do some other kind of excercise weather dependent.

Pay day tomorrow too......just £20 to move over into savings for holiday next year
Update on monthly budgets as follows:

    SFD 1/15
Savings £20/£75 (plan to put money in pot through selling a few things)
Excercise days: 2/30 (30 mins each day)
    Food budget:£32.64/£60
    Miscellaneous budget £13.30/£40
    Yoga 5/30
    Weight loss 0/7lb
    No binge days 0/20
I have enough money to last me the rest of my life unless I buy something -

    Evening all...

Bit of a late check in - but here to report another SFD.

Was a really lovely day today - I like the idea of being grateful for the small things in life too - I'm thinking of starting a grattitude book to write stuff down in... just to remind me that wealth isn't always monetary. I'm really thankful for my health, my friends and family, my job, having a car and a roof over my head, the natural world around me... all of those things make my life that much richer. Thank you!!!

    SFD - 3/12
    Exercise - 5/25
    Food - £29.16/£150
    Petrol - £19.05/£40
    Misc - £4.88/£150

    Morning :D

It's payday - my last until the end of June  I've moved back to monthly pay so it's going to be a slightly dry spell for a few weeks.

Thankfully this challenge has prepped me well, so I only had to move a couple of hundred pounds from my savings to make sure the bills were covered. I've got money for food sitting in that account - and a half-decent mealplan for the coming weeks will be getting done next week. I have my own spending money set aside too and even managed to put £50 in my ISA this morning as well.

Today is a SFD from my regular budgets, although I'll be buying tickets for the Edinburgh Fringe today :j :j I save my £2 coins all through the year for it - I haven't spent one since last September and today I get to book my first shows. It's the best part of living here - so many things going on!
