What does sfd stand for? Small financial deviation?

Haha love it:rotfl: Everyday is a SFD then.
    Update for 3rd June
    NSD 2/18
    Grocery £1/11
Going away spends/ going out 0/250.00
    Petrol £20/60

Weight loss. Start weight ...June 2nd 12st.13lbs aiming for at least 7lbs

Had a bad day yesterday my fault, tired after weekend, craving chocolate and went to garage for petrol. Well large bar slipped into my paws. Ate half then decided to take long dog for a walk. Got halfway and had to come home, along a busy country lane with a dog who likes to chase cars, nightmare had the worst migraine ever, could hardly see with it and hadn't taken my sunglasses out. Lesson learned staying off choccy for a bit. Walked about 3 miles which didnt make up for the binge.

Today a SFD as on Granny duties after work. :)

    Confessions

So £2.44 in Sainsburys as I nearly ate porridge with rancid rice milk and pitta bread for easy cheap nibbling...

Then £3.38 on rice noodles for my soon to be made "Vietnamese Pho" and alfalfa sprouts...from WholeFoods...

In Boots I spent £4.99 but that was paid for with points! Whoop!

Moggy is going to the vet tonight. I stupidly booked a late evening appt so I get home at about 1620 and have to leave again by 1740 to get to the vet for 1815... anyway that's another £37.50 if I can get her into her box.

First time out with the new Catit carry box..

Should be interesting. So will getting home at that time of night with my rubbish bus service.

Wish I had a working broomstick sometimes...

NSK - getting cats in boxes against their will is always fun:rotfl:, my cat used to just sit on my knee at the vets, she was very well behaved and clingy.

    Hi everyone!

@MagicCat, I find it hard budget wise- have got it sorted after a while but initially I was all over optimistic and set really tight ones, the issue then being that I would go over as I had invariably forgotten something, then I would go ‘Oh sod it I’m over anyway!’ and not do so well…. So I ended up adding in a bit of ‘extra’ to allow for stuff I’d forgotten. Doesn’t always work to plan but definitely doing better.

@NSK - Good luck with the cat! A last resort trick is to put the box on its end, scruff the cat and feed it in as fast as possible bottom first, making sure the flailing limbs can't be used to wedge against the box door to stop its descent into the box. Not very stylish and you feel a bit mean, but as I said, good last resort! Longer term, have you tried leaving her box out when she's not going to the vets and giving her sweets in there? Most cats are savvy enough to tell the difference between an actual trip and when you're just giving them sweets via some magic sixth sense, but you never know...

I've not managed any SFD's yet, yesterday I bought some food on my way to visit parents to cook them dinner and today was the every-other-monthly Costco run, so massive dent in the grocery bill but we are stocked up now! Hopefully will have a few SFDs to report soon.
Doing OK exercise wise, am on 1/20 for cardio stuff but I sense that the 30 day Abs challenge is going to get painful...

Have had a spendy day, to use my £5 Aldee voucher. I weighed the shopping when I got home and it was 4 stone!! No wonder I ached! I'm very glad it's not too long a walk from the bus stop!

Also sent 2 bday presents. 2nd class, of course! Last month I was trying to get a gazillion presents for under £60. Well, I know I managed it! 3 children and 4 adults, and I was well under budget. Tis amazing what this planning in advance does for one's purse!

Got in my first sweaty exercise session of the month, which felt good.

So glad there are other poorlies/ not fully able in the challenge this month - it would have felt like cheating if I had been the only one. So last night tuna mousse was made - may have overdone the gelatine, more spready than mousse (recipe uses cottage cheese, I had creme fraiche bb 5 May and I tried to reduce the quantity. Can be more generous on subsequent days as am not expecting it to keep beyond day 5 and there is no point in scrimping and then having to throw some away - could have it twice a day but that has implications for crispbread use (of which more later).

Put clothes away, moved attic stair-rail to corner of DS3's room - it fell down in here and has been the main floor obstacle for several weeks but until yesterday didn't feel confident about balancing the weight until I could stand securely on both feet. Did extra by drying each item of crockery and putting away individually - so 32 x 12 or so steps (not counting the cutlery).

Bedding washing and chopping of remaining veg has continued throughout the day. No heart racing but quietly active - mixed physio exercises with housework bits (2 reps then put stuff down both toilets, then 2 more reps then do something different). Also included standing up jobs and extra walking up and down stairs (drew the line at walking back to the top of the stairs and down again to pick up the letter I saw when I went down to bring the bin in - got very stand up, sit down keep moving once or twice, not frantic but lots of changes. Three full lines drying including 2 large quilts (they will be out most of the week, will turn them round/over).

Found business receipts so all in date order, numbered and entered in account book (in between up and down, in and out, stretching).

Also been doing serious food accounting. Goes something like 1 crispbread + 2 full packets (was on offer at £1 instead of £1.89 so bought six, then last month a different supermarket had the £1 offer so bought another 4 packs, so still in front). Opened new packet and there are 23 crispbread so I have 47 + 1 pack (6) oatcakes. I am allowed 3 a day so 15 days supply and if the 2 left over and the oatcakes do 2 more days. So 17 days (already had today's) takes me to Friday 20th June. Usually have them with cheese spread but hoping to have tuna mousse until this Friday (possibly Saturday but will start going 'rubbery' at some point - or whiskery). The remaining pot + part pot of cheese spread (they were £1 and it's the first time in at least 6 months that they have been less than £1.65) will do a full week and some, so possibly 16th/17th. So do I make cheese spread with the half a block of 1/2 fat hard cheese (using remaining creme fraiche?) or might I need it for something else.

Have gone through similar calculations for several other items and coming up with options - finally putting all that 'management of scarce resources' (useless business course) to some use. I have chopped/ sliced all the remaining (7) onions and put them in the fridge (I even checked and there is one portion of onion soup left in the freezer which could be used as the onion component of a larger dish). I am going to make some rice salad (can use frozen chopped veg - by the time it has turmeric, chilli powder, kidney beans and possible a few sultanas they will have plenty of flavour). Quite like this for breakfast (not all the time). Have also made up another pot of salad dressing.

Still want to bring in and put out more washing - there was no room for the bathmats earlier and another load is finishing soon. there is still a pile of pans, oven trays and other bits to tackle - the water got too cold and greasy to do any more last night. However I am quite tired now.

Cats and baskets. They love bags. Shortly after we got the boys' kittens DS1 set off for school one morning and noticed his bag was wriggling - his cat had crawled into the open bag whilst he was putting his coat on. Soon after they had their (6 month old) appointment at the vet's. I had a cardboard box. I could get 2 of them in but every time I tried for the third, one of the others would get out. Then I got a large bag (one of those zip up ones people use for laundry. I put a small blanket in and left it open on the floor. They all went in for a look, I zipped it up quickly - I got some strange looks on the bus, but got them to their appointment. Then after their operations they all retreated to the the top of the stairs to glare at me.

    Good Evening Everyone,

Well I didn't manage a SFD today so still on 0/15. Had to spend £1.99 on bin liners to finish clearing the back garden  Tomorrow will also be a spend day as OH is going out to buy dog food from the farm shop. Hopefully Thursday and Friday will be SFD's and at least one day over the weekend. We now have a fully stocked fridge, freezer and store cupboard so should only need milk, fruit and veg for the rest of the month along with a bit more pet food of one type or another.

I did manage a LTW day today but no exercise although I did use the stairs at work when going down 3 floors. Not a great deal but it's a start :)

Today I am grateful for dd doing a club so I have an extra hour for jobs before collecting her, for wearing my raincoat to shop so that when it did rain I remained dry, for getting on with some small sewing projects, for home-made gluten-free cakes, for a peaceful end to the day.

All this cat and basket talk is making me giggle. My cat hates his basket and I have to trap him in the bathroom, scruff his and post him into his basket from the top. When he broke his leg, he had to go into his basket frequently. He took to pushing his bottom against the bars and weeing out the front of the basket, and always whilst I was driving. I took to covering his basket in a black bin bag during the short car journey.

Today is SFD number 2 and exercise session number 1. I went to my exercise class for 45 minutes and have done over 12000 steps since 4pm :) Couldn't wear my pedometer to work as I wore a fitted dress.

Hope you've all had a good day

    Evening All,
No SFD for me today, but got DD registered at nursery and she starts 1 half day a week next week. When it was time to go, she ran away and hid under a table, then wailed like her heart was broken as I carried her out! I also saw her pushing a 4 year old boy over - oh dear. Considering she's not even 2 and still wearing 12-18 mth clothes, I'm hoping she's not going to be a total monster!

Thanks for the good wishes dolly84 and MagicCat - it must have worked as he's accepted me on the course! I just need to get work to agree to drop my hours as I can't afford 3 days a week childcare and all will be sorted!

Cooked a chicken and mushroom pie with leftovers from the freezer, and discovered my microwave is broken :( I put the chicken on defrost for 2 mins and when it came out, it was boiling and overcooked, hopefully being in the pie will hide it. That means all my appliances are now on nuke only, as my oven only cooks on the highest setting, and only one of the hob rings will go on low. I only use the microwave for defrosting stuff and I'm not buying a new one, so will have to be even more organised!

Managed to get up and exercise this morning, and am now fading fast!

    Totals so far:
    SFD 0/15
    Groceries £13.99/£80
    Misc £4.49/£40
    Petrol £0/£30
    Exercise 3/25
    Meals 3/30
    Tidy 3/30

Have a great Wednesday all xxx
