Hi All, thank you for all your threads. I am beginning to feel better.
I have sent emails(Fri) to Agerenew and Lumagenex(Serum), cancelling any further orders. I also asked them to clarify the terms and conditions of a refund, and to acknowledge the safe receipt of the emails.
I was unsuccessful in getting through on the telephone, just music and a voice telling me my call was important to them!
I of course contacted my Bank, who are cancelling any further payments to Agerenew and Lumagenex.
Up to now(Sunday) I have not received a reply from either company and will try phoning again!!!!!0 -
Yes I did read your post that was stating the obvious as it's the first thing people would do and if you had read mine you will see that I am trying to do the work myself ! No need for your condescending manner . Everybody is saying that they are hitting a brick wall when trying to contact these people to get their money back and don't know where to turn, we can't all afford solicitors , I am a single parent and have just lost £269 that I can not afford to lose . Solicitors are not affordable for me !Lloyds tsb. Won 913pounds
Capital One Bank . Won 806.18 pounds.(awaiting cheque)
G E Money . MCOL CLAIM FOR 330 Pounds. :beer:0 -
I responded to a Yahoo advert on top of my email list. I decided to order the free trial Age Renew, which I'd never actually heard of. That arrived on the same day as another product I hadn't seen mentioned called Lumagenex. A couple of weeks later I checked my bank statement and money (£84 and £72) had been taken out. I am outraged and not just for me.
I contacted Age Renew by email - support@agerenewskin.com and questioned them. I mentioned the other product and they said it was nothing to do with them!! I emailed both asking how my bank details went from one to another and cc'ing my email to trading standards. I will go to my bank and ask for details of origin of both and hope to show - as it's bleedin' obvious- that Age Renew passed on my details illegally.
I will pursue this. I've contacted Consumer Advice and Advertising Standards. Please do the same. Inundate the companies with emails and always cc them to an agency. These are massive concerns and their treatment of consumers is a disgrace.0 -
Hi folks I've just found this forum obviously because my mother 84 years was also scammed with over £400 taken from her account before I noticed it !!! we all seem to be singing from the same hymn sheet here regarding this company ripping us of or someone close to us, so I'm sure most of us will be on social network sites like Facebook and twitter, so if someone can compose something that we can all cut and paste and share on these networks it will eventually get picked up by the media, I'm sure between us all we have friends all over the world !! the pen is mightier than the sword !! your thoughts would be nice to hear on this !!0

Have just rang my credit card company to find out I to , have been scammed by age renew , every month they have been charging me almost £90 since I emailed I would have a free cream . Iv had nothing free at all , and when I rang the company to complain , was told to return the products for a full refund , this I did , but they were to returned to me saying the company didn't exist there . Iv now been told by my card fraud dept to email them to tell them to stop taking payments , as although the girl on the phone promised it would stop , the card issuer says they doubt it . She also said they have taken payment once out of my credit , but that's a lie , as they've done it 3 times and also for small amounts at beginning . I'm gutted , the cream looks crap and I wouldn't use it anyway , they selling a crap product at inflated price . I'm worried sick now and have stopped my card but wether this will stop these con people , who knows .0

A popup appeared after a survey at a legitimate website and nothing said a subscription was involved. The email confirmation had a paragraph in small print at the very end of it in small faded print. So clearly they hope you won't notice it. Not like they put it upfront ***Hey we will charge you £84 if you don't call us within 14 days!!****. I called and the American lady just read a script. So clearly UK legislation is weaker than US law in terms of consumer rights so AgeRenew is having a field day! They said they would NOT refund my £84 even though I sent the product back (outside the 14 day trial period). But said they would refund the 2nd charge to my account. I feel duped but see that others have too. I will certainly not buy from any site I am not familiar with.0

Perhaps I can excuse myself letting my guard drop because of Christmas!
How many times have I been told & told others "If it seems too good to be true, it probably is".
Puzzled on Sunday when going to buy my wife & I a coffee on Worthing pier, only to be flummoxed by insufficient funds.Yes, Age renew & Lumagenex had fleeced me too.'Free Trial' cobblers.Only only 14 day's then you get screwed.
Contacted my bank 1st thing yesterday to report being duped & contacted D Debit companies where payments due to prevent arrears letters charges.
Found lots of people on line globally who have fallen for this one.Immediately stopped card.My bank have already refunded payments as they are clearly aware of this scam.Suggest that anyone else caught by this does the same.Good luck0 -
Just searched Lumagenex website & found small print.
