Absurd financial demands from ex-fiancee

This is a really sad set of events, it always shocks me how couples can go from best friends to arch enemies.
But I think you're taking the right approach.0 -

That's what I was thinking - talking about washing your dirty linen in public2014 Target;

I wouldn't be giving her a penny tbh (Except maybe for the car)
I would be presenting her with a counter bill for
Holidays
Nights out
Food
Petrol (of you paid it)
Basically anything i could think ofWeight loss challenge, lose 15lb in 6 weeks before Christmas.0 -
Can I suggest that you write to her and say following her call to your boss, you would like her to come and remove all the proerty from the flat/house?
She is trying to get the money cos she thinks you want it, tell her she can have it.If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -

Personally I wouldn't. However, if she honestly thought that stuff was worth thousands of pounds I would offer it back to her at that same price or I would offer to pay her back what I thought it was worth.0 -
You need to watch out there, as most car finance companies insist the registered keeper and the person with the finance are the same. Not sure what the ramifications would be (if any), but just be aware. Being the registered keeper does not mean you are the legal owner either. We did tell the finance company about the change (it needed to be in my name for parking permit reasons), and they were okay with it0

I hope your boss told her where to get off ringing him like that.0

Are you sure that she is not trying to say that the original sums of money were loans rather than gifts?
I still don't think she has a leg to stand on, unless she has written proof of lending the money to you, but that might explain why the letter is claiming for the full cost of the items i.e. she is claiming she loaned you the money to buy them and she would like that money back now.
Edited to add - looking at the original screenshot - whoever wrote it says 'you confirmed to me' giving the impression that they are merely confirming in writing what has already been agreed.
Yeah, that's invented.0 -

I think that's a bit unfair. Maybe I'd have been better off providing a more edited version, but I don't know any of you and none of you know me. I honestly wanted to know whether people who have no need to tell me what I want to hear thought I was doing anything wrong.
I have no desire to be the bad guy or rip her off - I don't feel the need to make her unhappy.0 -

Isn't this site all about advice of the financial? Why shouldn't the OP ask for advise and show the letters if they add to the explanation? I have seen people beaten down because they DON'T provide enough information - people just can't win sometimes...“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent".0
