    Hi all

We are still naturally trying and my nephew has chicken pox, if I have had it will it be ok to be around him?

    Good luck all with treatments.
What is an Endo stractch? I have never heard of this.

Elephant - good luck with the injections, I was glad when it was over too

Hi Skaps I think Chicken Pox is ok, it's German Measles that the concern is with but I could be wrong! An endo scratch is when they insert a catheter through your cervix and scratch the lining of your uterus for 10 secs. You are meant to have this the cycle before your ivf so after your lining sheds during AF it grows back differently. It's supposed to encourage implantation, it didn't work for me & when I asked about it again for my last cycle the clinic have now stopped recommending it as they didn't notice any difference in their success rates

Hope your scratch went ok, Floaty? Did you take painkillers beforehand? I remember it being quite sore even with the ibuprofen & paracetamol :o

Elephant - EC will be here before you know it :)

Frozen - hope you are doing well? Any symptoms creeping in yet? I was expecting a photo on IG of your test :)

Hope everyone else is doing well xx

  • That's very true pink, you're right, I don't feel as if I can enjoy it at all yet, it's just like surviving each day til the first scan. Although I'm not sure it'll be any more relaxing after that! xx

I had an endo scratch last August skaps, it's exactly how Fairy described it. They're still offering it at my clinic but I don't know whether it would have worked or not as that was the cycle where I broke my ankle! We didn't go for it this time around and paid for EmbryoGlue instead. xx

Ha Fairy, I did think about posting a pic on IG but I didn't know if that would be too much like tempting fate! I will put something on there at some point (and on my blog) but probably not for a few months :)
Symptoms at the moment - being absolutely shattered, a indigestion/heartburn-type feeling, had a lot of cramps last week and the week before but only a couple of twinges this week, b00bs (can I write that? are they going to censor it?) are a bit tender, feel quite bloated by the end of the day, bit of backache occasionally and weirdly, the acne I usually get all the time (and made worse with the progesterone) is surprisingly good - my face is the clearest it's been for about 15 years! :rotfl:

I get that about tempting fate with posting pics/on your blog! I would probably wait too. A couple of people I follow on IG posted their sticks on & now their early scan too. I think I'd be too scared just in case! The good thing about your symptoms is that will make it more real for you, hopefully you don't feel too rubbish as time goes on! :)

The clinic phoned me last week as I hadn't phoned in with my test results (it had only been 3 days!!) as they review every case I was asked if I wanted a follow up appt. At first I said no as I don't want to go back there since the only thing different that they have suggested on all four cycles is that my last cycle was changed from short to long protocol. I told her that we were thinking of going abroad but she said to come in anyway. I should have an appt in the next 4-5 weeks. I've been thinking about my next ivf as I'm going to be 40 in the next few months & that my eggs are likely getting crapper that maybe egg donation us the way to go. Has anyone else considered this?

Part of me thinks yes that's the way to go although I'd be a bit sad that the baby would have no biological link to me and the other part is thinking about once the child is old enough how would it feel about being unable to trace it's real mother (Czech Republic have anonymous donors) & it might wonder about that side of their family that they will never meet. That part puts me off! Maybe I'm just overthinking things?

When is your next scan, Elephant?

    Xx

  • Fairy maybe have a follow up apt just to see what they have to say, still check out other options abroad though!! Next scan is tomorrow morning, so fingers crossed for enough development and full steam aged for EC next week sometime :-) xx
  • I agree with Elephant, Fairy, I think if it were me, I'd still go for the follow up appointment, even if it was just to get my money's worth and to say "well I knew they were talking rubbish anyway".

I don't know much about egg donation but I do know that wherever the individual eggs come from, it would still be your child, yes they might want to trace the family but could that be a case of 'cross that bridge when you come to it'? I think if it was me, I'd go for it and work out all the details later on (feel free to tell me to eff off though!) xxx

Elephant - good luck with your scan today! xxx

AFM - Think feeling icky is kicking in now, according to all the calculators I'm 5 weeks and 5 days today, last night I sat with a bucket (wasn't actually sick though) and this morning I felt ill. One of my friends said to use those travel bands on your wrists which I've been wearing now for about 45 minutes and I have to say - they do work!
(also, does anyone else think it's mental that the day you do your pregnancy test, you're already classed as 4 weeks and 5 days?)

Friday hugs to you all xxx

Frozen hope you aren't feeling too sick, I have heard good things about those travel bands so glad they are helping. Also heard that ginger biscuits are good for nausea too. Have you got a date for your scan yet?

Elephant - is it this week you have your egg collection?

Floaty - how are you getting on with the Buserelin?

Good luck to those who are on treatment/having tests that I may have missed :) xx Oh and those lucky enough to have a holiday weekend, hope you had a good one!! Xx

AFM - I've got my follow up appt on 23rd June so will see what they tell me then, nothing new I'm guessing!! I hate those appts as soon as I enter the room I am a bubbling mess :D

  • Fairy yes it is this week. Have just got home from the clinic, and to say I'm feeling !!!!!! doesn't describe how I feel at all. But all seemed to go well and they collected 7 eggs. Just feeling sick & was sick twice at the clinic. They gave me paracetamol and (( TMI ALERT ))gave me a suppository which I said I'd do myself ( didn't want someone shoving something up my back side!!! ) now on the sofa in my pjs with hot water bottle & chocolate waiting for me when I don't feel so sick! Oh and a DH at my beck n call

Hope your feeling a bit better frozen but every bit of it will be worth it in the end.

Hope everyone else is ok and all appts are going well

Love & hugs to all xxxx

    Hi all

Hope everything is going well for everyone.

Hope the EC went well Elephant

As for me, the FET info day went well. Am going to start the process when AF arrives. It will hopefully be a natural cycle FET but I will have to take the Crinone gel. We have 2 frozen and are going to hopefully have 2 transferred. Felt positive after the appointment last week but today feeling negative and moody. Got to snap out of this.
