How are you feeling, choc? x
  • cyantist - welcome, as pink said we hope your stay is short ( meant in the nicest possibly way! )

Tea - Good luck with your Brownies meeting today :)

Thank you all for the well wishes, you really are a lovely lot :D Spent all day yesterday in bed to be honest, feeling a little better today, made the mistake of weighing myself, put on 6lbs since Saturday, I know it's mainly water but I'd worked so hard to lose 9lbs over the last 6 weeks or so and now most of it has gone back on.

Nurse from the unit called me yesterday to ask how I was doing etc, told me to call if I start feeling worse and to call them next week with an update as to how I'm getting back on. Gave me an appointment for the 1st of June to start things off again ready for the FET. Read up a little about using blastocyst transfers and feeling a little better about things, there seems to be good success rates with them so hopefully when we get to that stage I'll be fit and healthy and we'll have a good chance of it working. In the mean time I'm looking at booking a few nights away somewhere when I'm over this, DH has been amazing running round after me so I think we could both do with a few nights away

Sorry for not replying to everyone, hope you're all doing well and please know your support through this has made such a huge difference to me, I don't know how I would have got through it all without it x

Choc, they only bother freezing embryos that have a good success chance, so the fact that you had 4 frozen really bodes well for them.

I've written to the girl guides foundation to see if they want a volunteer, sadly I think I'll be rubbish as I'm so shy and awkward.. I've also offered to volunteer at a contact centre as they have troubled children (social worker recommended this), but its only every 4-6 weeks so I'll be lucky if I get a session in before they assess me!

Picklekin - just wanted to let you know that I volunteered at a local childrens contact centre where the shifts are generally once every 6 weeks but once I settled in, I was able to cover other peoples shifts too when they couldn't make it so that I got more experience. Also by the time that they had to write a reference to go into my report to be submitted to panel I had been doing it quite a while and they gave me a lovely reference. I am quite a quiet, shy person but have settled in well . I am continuing to go even though I am now approved and intend to keep doing it even when we have a little one of our own.
  • choc - how are you feeling today? Hope you're managing to get some rest and being looked after. Everyone's right though - 4 blasts is fabulous! FET's are a lot easier as well - less hassle, no injections and apparently a better success rate. 1st June will be here in no time! xxx

Picklekin - that's brilliant news about being approved to proceed! :j I bet that feels like the first hurdle is out of the way although I imagine the rest of the journey feels both very exciting and very scary. If me and DH decide to go down the adoption route I imagine we'll have to create some way of volunteering as well so I'm quite interested to hear both yours and Primmer's experiences of it! xxx

cyantist - hello and welcome  Sorry you find yourself here but I hope you won't be here very long. Feel free to ask anything, have a moan and pass round some choc biscuits xxx

Elephant and Fairy - hope you're getting on okay xxx

AFM - had my day 12 scan today but the lining was only just 5mm :o . Got to up the oestrogen tablets from 3 to 4 times a day and be scanned again next Thursday, hopefully with ET on 1st May. I've got the hot water bottles and heat pads sorted - any other hints and tips to try and make the lining grow?
(we have an egg dance, is there a lining dance? ;))

Lining dance had made me think of a little Chorus Line or Cancan, haha.

Hope you are feeling better today Choc. I'm not an expert on things as much as everyone else on here, but although things haven't gone to plan, it still sounds positive.

Hi Cyantist, hope your stay around here is short!

Hope everyone is ok and enjoying the sunshine? Got proper grumps on today, trying to lose 1.8lbs to get to my 3stone weight loss before we go to a wedding next week. I've been really good and stuck to 1,500 calories every day, walked the poor dog for miles, yet I've weighed the same all week grr. Thought the metformin was supposed to help but it must help everyone but me! Going to the gym later but I could just go to the pub...

    Thanks for the welcome everyone.

The weather here has been glorious, not that you can tell from my office window! We were planning on having a BBQ this weekend but it’s apparently going to be a bit cold. Might give it a go anyway and provide blankets/jumpers.

Some people probably think I’m lucky but I am in the underweight category. I was really ill over Christmas and lost 7lb, and 90% of it has come off my boobs! They’re small enough as it is! I don’t mind my size at all, but I am concerned that being underweight might be one of the reasons for me not conceiving, but no matter how much I eat I don’t put weight on.
