Hi Cyantist, as others have said hope your stay here is short! I'm sure your doctor will have an idea of whether your weight is likely to be a factor and should have some advice. Try not to be scared, i know what you mean though, making that first appointment makes it all seem more real somehow. All they did at mine IIRC was book me in for a blood test and OH for a sperm sample, it was quite a quick appointment and they didn't speculate on whether or not there was a problem at that stage. There is so much support on this thread so keep posting.

Picklekin good luck with the volunteering, I really wouldn't worry about being shy, I imagine they will have lots of experience with new volunteers and won't throw you in at the deep end. Hope you hear back soon.

ETA: Sorry for the essay again!

Hope you're feeling better today Chocoholic, I don't know much about what you're going through but I'm sure the scales are hopelessly inaccurate right now after all your body has been through so please don't upset yourself x

AFM I have my operation date through, Tuesday 9th June, just hope it comes around quickly! I had the following week booked off work anyway so have just brought that forward. I have two gigs the week before that I was worried about missing so the timing has fallen well really. I don't really want to tell anyone as I don't want them asking questions or thinking its anything serious so hoping I can get away with it really.

cyantist - as Shrimpy says, your dr will know if your weight is a factor or not. I suspect it depends on how underweight you are but it may well be having no effect at all. :) If you do ever want to try and gain weight, for this or any other reason, have a look at MyFitnessPal - it's a food/calorie logging system .

Most people use it for weight loss or maintenance, but you can set your goal as being weight gain and it'll tell you how many calories you need to eat a day to put weight on. :) People who need to lose weight are often shocked when they start by how much they're actually eating - once they log it all and see how many cals it is. You might be surprised in reverse and find you're eating less than you think.

As I said, just in case you want to gain weight - if you don't then never mind! :)

Cyantist have you ever been tested for coeliac disease? I only ask as you mention you eat loads but don't gain weight, I have a friend who is exactly the same, and her only symptom was long term anaemia as the gluten was preventing the bowel absorbing nutrients.

Will catch up with everyone else's posts later, phone is being a little wot not....

I'm not too much underweight, my bmi is about 17.5 now. I will definitely check out that myfitnesspal thing though. I did do calorie counting a while back and averaged about 3500 calories a day but since I was ill I just can't eat as much as I used to. I would like to get back to about what I was before though

I have been making twinks hobnobs loads recently though and packing them with nuts, chocolate and cranberry. Did another batch tonight so maybe if I eat enough of them I'll be posting back soon saying I need to lose weight!

Laura, I have been tested for coeliacs because I used to get really bad mouth ulcers and do have other symptoms that might fit, but I don't have it. I do have some gi issues though so I will mention that to the dr when I go and see if the new one I have has any genius ideas

Afternoon all, hope everyone is doing ok? We seem very low down the pages, thought we needed a gee up. Far too sunny to be at work today, days like this I wish I could move my desk to the garden...

I ate far too much over my birthday weekend (now need extra sucky pants for the wedding I'm going to on Friday) Went to a lovely pub with oh and Mum on Saturday and was sat next to a table with the most annoying parents / kids - was it wrong that I asked the waitress if we could move? Bored screaming kids banging cutlery with chav parents is one of my biggest bugbears, and I didn't want them spoiling my birthday meal. Waitress was lovely, could completely see where I was coming from, and very subtly moved us - did leave her a tip for being so helpful!
  • Nope not wrong at all Tam! Especially when it's your birthday (and who knows, perhaps the waitress has had her own problems!) I would've done exactly the same xxx

It's mine and DH's 8th wedding anniversary today - we always thought we'd probably have one, possibly two sets of little feet by now but hey ho. Instead we were given a couple of vouchers last year for the Thermae Bath Spa in the city centre and they need using up by June so we're heading down there after work for a dip in the pool. Something we'd find difficult to do if we had children and also something which needs doing this side of my ET (as the water is apparently 33 degrees!)

Ooh, that sounds lovely (and congrats on your anniversary!). Trying to get OH go away for the weekend for a spa type break (not at an actual spa resort, just a hotel that also does spa things) but think he thinks its too girlie or will just be full of health food (which if it was, I wouldn't be anywhere near either, haha)
  • Happy anniversary frozen hope you have a lovely time at the spa.

Went for my day 0 scan today, to find out that because I hadn't had a period yet it wasn't going to be done, so after a little wait in the waiting room while the nurse spoke to the consultant I have to wait another week for a period to come and go back next Monday if it still hasn't come I have to pick up some tablets to induce period.

It confused me slightly as I was put straight on to the sniffer on day 21 no provera before hand which myself and my friend at the same clinic found strange due to having PCOS as well as no tubes! So fingers crossed it will come this week without the tablets being needed next week but still not sure how if the sniffer is supressing the hormones.

So spent this morning annoyed and angry with my body for not doing what's needed but I've kinda come to terms with it now and as my dear friend said to me a few weeks longer in the grand scheme of things is nothing.

Hope everyone else is well :-)

Hi ladies, time for a proper catch up!

Frozen hope you enjoyed Bath, fingers crossed for your scan tomorrow.

Tea how was Brownies? I used to be a young leader, perhaps the most hilarious thing I've ever done, the girls had me in stitches every week, they have no censors on what they say!

    Choc hope you're doing ok.

Hugs and chocolate to everyone else who needs them!

AFM, well AF is due any time. Well, in all honesty AF was probably due a couple of days ago, but clomid tends to extend my cycle a few days and keep me in suspense. I'm not sure its worked this time, have quite a crampy tummy, and apologies if tmi, quite a bit of cm. Really don't want to take a test, as I'm so sure it'll be bfn, there's only so many of those a girl wants to see:(

Have realised that, assuming my gut feeling is correct, this next cycle brings us into our third year of ttc. I know some of you have been here far longer, and I really wish you could all graduate from here, but it has really hit home in this 2ww, especially as these 2 years have been so rubbish. Think I need to demolish my last easter egg that's lurking in the fridge, might cheer me up a little xx
