Just dropping in to say hi , that's me back on the ivf saddle (cycle 4)! Will look back to catch up with where everyone's at but I see there are some new & sadly some old people still here.
Just a quick question to those who are DRing, was AF late at all? I've only ever done the short protocol so I was only on Buserelin for 3 days, I'm now on Day 11 of injections and I've not started bleeding yet! I was expecting to turn into the psycho b*tch from hell on these injections but so far I've been ok, OH might not agree though! :rotfl:
Good luck to anyone ER/ET/TWW at the moment & hugs to those that need them xx52 Week Challenge £15/£13780 -

Skaps - Hopefully it's just a bug I've had then, had some food last night and it didn't make me ill so I'm hoping I'm OK now
Fairy Dust - I was on buserelin for 3 weeks before starting Stimms. I don't think I had a bleed until I was about 2 weeks into the injections and I was CD38 so about a week or so later then when AF would normally turn up
I've been following the slimming world plan for a few weeks now and have lost 9lb. Should I check with the hospital it's OK to continue with the slimming world diet? I can't see why they'd have an issue with it as such, it's basically just a lot of lean meats, vegetables and fruit and I've cut back on all the junk so feel a lot healthierNew House... New Mortgage! Fairy - lovely to hear from you (but also not lovely iykwim)
I'll pop you on the list of cycles ongoing. Did they give you anything to induce AF as well as buserelin?
chocoholic - that does seem like quite a low dose of Gonal-F so hopefully you won't be at risk of OHSS. I wouldn't have thought they'd have a problem with you continuing with Slimming World, as long as you're eating a healthy range of foods and making sure you've got all the right nutrient groups that should be exactly what you (and all of us) should be doing anyway. Although I know full well - easier said than done!Is it your scan today? Good luck if it is, I hope there's lots of lovely little follies growing well in there. xx
Elephant - good luck with your appointment today! xx0 -

Frozen - Yes, just back from my scan and honestly have no idea how it went
Doctor was calling out numbers to the nurse but at no point was any explanation given to me as to whether they were good or bad, he told me to up my dose to 125iu and said they'd see me back on Friday then left the room. Nurse said we don't need to speak to you about anything else so you can just get dressed and leave. He was calling out things like 7 under 10, 2 at 10, think it was the same for the other side so can any of you ladies give me an indication of what that means?

That is rubbish of them choc, they should always explain what they're doing. That's just basic good manners at the best of times, but even more so when an internal scan is involved!
That would have been the number and size of the follicles on each side. They measure in mm (I think!), and from what I can remember they look for a few over 18mm or so. Once you're at that point they'll schedule your trigger shot and EC.
The numbers they were shouting seem to be a good number of small-ish follicles. They'll now have you continue on a slightly increased stimms dose - by Friday's scan you will probably see more, and bigger follicles.
All seems to be on trackGood luck!

Just pinched this from a random clinic website...
Second Stage: Superovulation
During this stage the ovaries are stimulated to produce a large number of mature eggs. A daily injection of FSH+/- LH is commenced which stimulates the growth of several follicles, generally between 10 and 20, each containing an egg.
Trans-vaginal ultrasound scans are used to monitor the growth of the follicles. When the follicles reach an appropriate size (approximately 18mm) the GnRH analogue and FSH+/- LH injections are stopped and an injection of hCG (human Chorionic Gonadotrophin) is given to bring about final maturation of the eggs.0 -
I agree with tea, chocoholic - it's just basic customer service to explain what they're doing and what they can see.
In terms of the numbers though, it doesn't seem too bad, 7 follicles under 10mm and 2 at 10mm (which I reckon is what they were on about) sounds like some steady follies there. Hopefully with the increased dosage things will get better and bigger! xx0 -
Thanks ladies, I felt really confused and a bit down when I left, so thank you for helping me understand it a bit more. So if it is 7 under 10 each side and 2 above 10 each side is that about average? I figured as they weren't increasing my dose massively things must have been going along pretty much as expected.New House... New Mortgage! February 2017: £144,000
