Good luck Picklekin, really hope your little bean sticks.
I had my follow up appointment with FS a few weeks ago. All tests have been normal and I was worried they were going to try to make me take Clomid as a stalling tactic but they didn't at all. He even said it wouldn't be worth trying it as tests show I'm ovulating normally. So, nothing else they can do really and next step is IVF. Can't get NHS funding until we've been trying for 2 yrs (it's only been 18 months so far), but we could self fund if we want to start earlier and still get the NHS treatment later on if we're not successful. Waiting list for NHS is a yr - so another 6 months before we can go on the list then a year before treatment would start. Given I'm 38 already, I don't think I can wait that long. Not fully discussed it with OH yet but I'm thinking give it 4 more attempts naturally then go for the IVF.
Apparently you can pay for the treatment at the NHS hospital rather than going to a private clinic. Anyone had experience of doing this? It's much cheaper I think - I was quoted £4,300 for one cycle. Still a lot of money but I had thought it might be more.0 -
Good luck Picklekin - got everything crossed for you.
I spoke to the clinic today and apparently the waiting list has gone down. I wonder if people on the list are falling pregnant naturally? Maybe there's something in the water - I hope so!0 -

ricegirl - I had NHS and private treatment at the same place (one NHS ISCI cycle, one self-funded). Our funded cycle cost £3250, then about £500 for drugs and £360 for embryoscope.0

Hi Ladies,
just to give an update we have done 3 pregnancy tests and all have come back positive.
The question I am asking now is that my wife has had some brown discharge and some cramps, would that be a bad thing or a normal thing during very early pregnancy?
Thanks in advance.

As far as I'm aware that's probably normal as long as the blood stays brown. However, I'm no expert on pregnancy and you might be better directing the question at the less than 12 weeks pregnant thread as they have more experience in these matters.

Hi all, sorry haven't had much chance to post recently but have been reading.
Congratulations Live n Learn! Really glad things worked out. Have you posted in the less than 12 weeks thread? There may well be someone who has been through the same thing who can advise.
Don't think I have congratulated you on being PUPO yet Pickle! How are you doing?
Had bloods tests today and got my next appt date through but DH can't get the time off work that day (some deadline or other) so need to reschedule. Bah!

LnL, congratulations!!! The progesterone they have your wife on causes a lot of these symptoms all by itself. A bit of bleeding is completely normal, the last time I was pregnant I had a completely normal period. Talk to your clinic and you'll be off to the GP anyway so you can check there. Try not to worry.
Glad things are slowly progressing Shrimpy, shake your OH, can't he work late that day to make it up?
I'm not good at waiting, had a dream I was pregnant and work up worrying I wasn't.0 -
Congratulations Live n Learn. I hope everything goes smoothly for you.
Some advice please. I'm booked in for a hycosy. Will I be able to go into work afterwards? I've managed to arrange it during a really busy time at work and I'm also dog-sitting. Fun times! (How do people have the time to have a baby? I don't have the time to deal with not having a baby!)0
