I'm a total elephant person. The anaesthetist at EC was much amused by my Dumbo socks. :o
  • Well.. I've flipped, broke down completely in office, got told to phone doctor and am now on 2 weeks sick leave. As I was leaving I thought I would try to speak to the cow at work to resolve a few things so when I come back things might be better. Cow was super cowy and looked at me like I was dirt, and refused to "go for a coffee" with me when I came back. Told her about the IVF and all, didn't want sympathy but a little understanding might have been nice. COW.
  • Awww Picklekin big hugs to you xx

Some people are just cows and no amount of being nice or trying to understand them will change that. I think some people thrive on making other people feel like crap as it makes them feel better about themselves. Most people would probably be understanding or even empathise as they may already know of someone who has gone through IVF, but people like that really don't give a sh*t about others, only themselves! Their problem not yours :)

Use the two weeks to chill out (or at least try) & watch trashy tv, comedies, etc. Pamper yourself or go for a walk, anything to raise your spirits and forget about cow face for a bit.

Failing that you could use the time too make a Moo Doo doll of her ;)

    Xx

Oh, pickle. I really feel for you as I wasn't far off a meltdown today myself. Take care of yourself. And don't worry about that individual - there are some of them in every office and there's no point making an effort with them. She's not worth your energy. Focus on yourself right now.
  • picklepin & pinkteapot - big hugs to you both today, sounds like you've had a tough few days and need to be surrounded by people who love you and certainly not cows!

Ladies - can I ask your advice please? I tend to keep a low profile on this thread as I don't know what many of you are going through but am always lurking and wishing you well.

We're now at nearly 2 years TTC our first without success. We've been pregnant twice in the last 10 months but miscarried both times. At present, we're told that we don't "qualify" for any help until we've had 3 miscarriages but I'm worried that time is slipping by and our ages are going to become a problem (I'm 36 in Feb and HB is 38 in Nov).

Should we go back to our GP and start asking if there is any more help available? If we hadn't fallen pregnant the first time, we would probably be having some sort of treatment by now but because we managed and failed twice, there's nothing.

Look forward to hearing your thoughts and advice.

Huge hugs ptp and picklekin and also to anyone else who needs one.

Sorry I've not been on here much, I'm trying to not think about ttc too much. Im currently cd67 with no sign of af- I'm really hoping this cycle isn;t as long as the last cycle which was 170 days!!

Its been over 2 weeks now since I saw the GP ad I've not had a referral letter through yet, I'm wondering whether to chase it on Monday when it will be 3 weeks- or is this too soon!!

I'm just starting a college course that is a year long, I think I'm going to be so busy I'm not going to have much time to think about how crappy my cycles are- I think it will be a good distraction!! :)

Gelly- I personally would go to the GPs, even if they think you don't qualify yet they may be able to give you guidance on when you may qualify- hopefully they will be able to help you.

Just about to book a hotel room for Friday night....think that pretty much guarantees my awol AF will show up.
  • Gelly - I would try and find a sympathetic doctor who may be able to offer you more help or guidance. My GP is fairly new to my practice but she is an expert on women's health and gynaecology. Another doctor at my surgery passed me on to her when I first mentioned our infertility issues. Ask at your surgery if any of the GP's there specialise in women's health or fertility issues.
    Good luck xx

So we have dtd every other day I lie with my legs in air and my bum is elevated for half hour. Please please please be this month I get my bfp
  • scottie dog – excellent news on the referral, fingers crossed it comes through quickly for you xx

pickle – huge hugs, like everyone’s said, try and use the next couple of weeks to get some rest and don’t think about the office cow. We have one in our office too, I’m sure there must be a place breeding them somewhere!
Also did you start stimming today? Hope it wasn’t too bad xx

GTS – how did your transfer go today? Hope it all went well and fingers crossed for the next couple of weeks xx

Fairy – excellent news on the ET! I’m keeping all my bits crossed that this is your time xx

Sew It – lovely to hear from you! Can’t believe you’re 33 weeks already – that’s definitely flown by! Let us know when your little one arrives xx

Primmer – sounds exciting! as well as nerve-wracking of course but I'm sure it will definitely all be worth it. xx

AFM – the plan is ET on Friday (providing our one lonely little embie defrosts properly). I feel a bit unprepared really, it doesn’t seem like I’ve done enough ‘stuff’ to justify getting to ET. Although I’m not sure that really makes any sense. It’s Freshers Week next week at my workplace as well so I’m hoping the madness of that will take my mind off knicker-watch every 5 seconds.

Hugs to you all (especially pickle and pink) xxxx
