    Hi guys,

Is it possible to find a mobile phone contract with a Sony PlayStation 3 as a free gift that works out cheaper over the 12 months than buying the machine at retail - or is that wishful thinking?

I don't care what phone I get because I'll probably sell it to further make the purchase cheaper. =)

I've had a look and I can't see anything cheaper than around £30 p/m for 12 months so far.

Any advice or links to offers would be great.

    Thanks a lot.
  • I'm in a similar situation wanting to know an answer to the above - can anyone help?!

  • Hello everybody - about 3 weeks ago i took out a mobile phone contract over the internet with the offer of a free gift. I received my phone after a matter of days but still have not received my free gift after sending out proofs of signiture etc about two weeks ago. Anyway, i called the company up today and they said that my free gift had been delivered and that a signiture was given on delivery. Obviously i did not sign for it and neither did my house mate - we'd both have been at work at the time anyway!

The lady on the phone said that they would have to contact the delivery carrier about this issue but she kept saying 'but it has been signed for' and there wasn't much they could do. In the past i've had delivery people leave parcels outside my back door which i always think is daft, but i've always gotten my items.

I feel as though they don't believe me and therefore i feel cheated and rather stuck. What would be the best way to go about this? A letter of complaint?

Any suggestions or people who have had similar experiences would be appreciated!

    Jon
  • Can I ask which company off the internet did you use etc? I want to purchase 2 phones from a reputable company which also offer free gifts but worry about the free gifts not being delivered etc or whether they are just a con?

  • It was buymobilephones.net

Like you, i looked into finding a reputable company - i thought they were, but obviously i'm now having problems!

check out mobiles2yourdoor.com which is a phones4u company but beware the cashback scheme and follow it to the word (see other thread about them).

I had a similar problem with Carphone Warehouse. I got them to pay up in the end. See here

Strongly suspect that the 'free gifts' offered by this company are going to suffer from numerous delivery problems in the not too distant future. A bit early to be sure though so perhaps i am wrong.

Advice at this stage would be to get proof of the value of the free gift at THIS moment in time from several retailers, ads etc.. You might need a specific sum for correspondence/court action.

Ask them to forward a copy of the signature from the courier company within seven days. If not received send them a letter, recorded delivery, advising them that unless you receive the proof within 7 seven days that you will sue them, using the MCOL proceedure, for the sum as per second paragraph above.

    Good luck.
  • Anyone know who offers Nintendo Wii's an PS3's etc free with certain mobile phone packages onlie or instore (Belfast). What are the catches etc?

    Cheers!

    Hi

I am with orange and my contract runs out next month. I've been after a PS3 and some of these free gift deals look okay (contracts and cost are the same as with orange direct.) Which are the companies to use and which to avoid?
