What is the free gift? If its something like a Wii that some providers are offering then it could be a problem with supplies?
o2 are kindly giving me two free memory cards and two lots of cinema tickets for a year:staradmin:staradmin:staradmin:staradmin:staradmin0 -

I'm assuming that the free gift is from the company you took the contract out through rather than o2?0

Hi
I actually work for O2 and you will probably find that it is not O2 through whom you got the contract (prob a 3rd party company like the ones you find in the newspapers etc)
My colleague actually worked for one of these companies and he says its all one big con really. There are so many clauses to getting these gifts (e.g you may have to send off your bill within a certain number of days; if you do it could get 'lost' in the post). He says that less than 10% of customers like yourselves actually get their free gift. Also beware what you have been told, bare in mind that company was trying to get a sale and may have twisted the truth in order to get you to sign on the dotted line. Most companies only have a 14 day period where you can cancel your contract. And in a nutshell if you are past this period, they don't really care anymore (note O2 is not like this, I am talking about the company that is promising you the free gift). These companies make a lot of commission through the network providers and can offer you whatever they like to get the sale.
I'm sorry to put a dampener on things. But please don't stop paying your bills! Even though this company has supplied you with a phone and the promise of a free gift you still have an airtime contract with O2. If you stop paying your bills you will be cut off and it will severly affect your credit rating.
A note for the future: get your contract directly with O2. We are actually quite nice people and don't offer you phoney deals. At the end of the day you get a face to talk to (or come and shout at if you so wish!!!) This goes for other networks as well (voda, orange...who I'm sure are also quite nice:D )Don't worry:p:cool: :rotfl:
Be happy
