I phoned up my boyfriend's ex-gf. She's a therapist and she told me a few things.

    She told me that:

    1) he's young and a man and will take a while to grow up (he's 31; she's 40)
    2) He lives like he's in his 20s (he hasn't worked for 6 years and lived rent free with girlfriends over that time)
    3) He uses sex to self-medicate himself
    4) He is scared of living life
    5) He never apologises
    6) He is so frugal that if people didn't help him out he's probably waste away and die and that him being so cheap is a form of self-hatred.
    7) Oh and she also told me no-one can help him, he will have to find life's answers himself.

Hahahaha!! You've gotta love American therapy-speak.

I especially like the "uses sex to self-medicate himself" Is that what they're calling it these days?

We have a MUCH better word for it over here! Which describes this man/boy to a tee.
(Clue..it begins with "W" and ends with......you get the picture!)

See my earlier post! Copied below in case you missed it.

Yes, medical insurance in the US is excessively expensive - I know because I used to administer our company scheme - but travel insurance is peanuts.

I think he is telling you porkies anyway - even he must have heard of Medicaid.

Another thing - tell him that not only does he owe you money, but every other tax payer in this country!

I am so out of the dating game for now. I'm 30, slim and not unattractive. My low self-esteem revolves around being told I'm a mentalist. I'll need a bit of time to re-build my self-esteem.

I have no idea about the cost of Medicaid... I think he used that as a kid. He's not really a part of society (his only other friend is his ex and she enabled him to stay rent free in her rented apartment for 5 years) now and seems a bit terrified of re-integrating.

He has 3 toothbrushes in his ownership and 2 are from hospital re-admissions.

Medicaid is FREE! It's pretty rubbish, but you are entitled to it if you are unemployed.

And there is a reason why his ex is his only friend - he is totally unlikeable! Perhaps she just keeps him around because he is a good case study in narcissistic personality disorder.

Well, you should have a very clean toilet once you have used them to clean it :D
