From Sunday until the end of Saturday -

Sunday - tidy up day and planning oncoming week (done as much as possible).
Monday until the end of Saturday are largely similar to last week -
Anything left unsorted/not put away Sunday deal with.
Try not to spend any money on groceries as plenty to use up still.
Front and side garden jobs still.
    Collect garden seeds maybe.
Clean out bottom of wardrobe. Do one task regarding something stored there.
    Decluttering again - just anything.

Hi, last week resulted in some unfinished tasks being done but some still remain on the floor. Food grocery spending was very low (£1.40 excluding milk and sweeteners) but am nowhere near emptying another freezer drawer like last week. Quite a few front and side garden jobs were done which also involved reading about each plant species. Also, more garden seeds for next year sowing were collected. Still jobs to do however. The bottom of the wardrobe was cleaned out and needlework supplies kept there were sorted out. Lastly, the decluttering has been bitty again; still hoping to do better in this area as want to feel less cluttered before end 2014.

Hi, sorry for the delay. The additional tasks are:-

Food related - use up any food perishables, recipe idea to use up existing food stock and sort out loads of apples. Also, consider/make grocery order and consider a "health food" store offer.
Health related - ebay bid, check research regarding cholesterol levels and listen to a downloaded talk.
Keep watching or listening to past radio/tv programmes.
Things left on the floor since last week or before, to do or put away!
Front and side garden to keep doing.
Remove dead or diseased from conifer bush and forget-me-nots which are in the back garden.

Hello, last weeks tasks went very well. The food-related tasks were all achieved. I didn't bother with the health food offer. Next, the health tasks were also done although the ebay purchase only saved a few pounds but I really needed these items. Just a few tv and radio programmes were finished. Items left on the floor were not quite done so have left some of these out for next week to do. Lastly, the gardening jobs were tackled and am beginning to feel pleased with those results.

My new list from Sunday to Saturday -
    1) Calculate last months expenditure and January - end November 2014 expenditure. Consider course of action for December in view of this.
    2) Another ebay bid to check/bid for?
    3) Challenges for December 2014 and next year?
    4) Food related that involves using up or freezing perishables and better dietary management. Try to reduce sweeteners or have more unsweetened beverages etc.
    5) Back garden jobs - repair compost bin, continue with sorting out the forget-me-nots and start to fill the council compost bin with anything unwanted.
    6) Keep decluttering miscellaneous items.

Just a quick update from me. It's good to see so many new people.

The house move happened and I have a new hip. The move was not smooth, DS2 still had stuff in the house a week after we moved in - I tried cleaning a bit the day before we moved in but I was still stepping over mattresses. The old house got four hours of cleaning the day before I went into hospital (was really dragging myself around at the end) and all the leftover bits are bagged and still in the vestibule (bought DS3 a whole weeks bus ticket so he could ferry bits to here, anytime between 5.30am and midnight but it didn't get done).

The weekend I was in hospital his gf came back with him (since she started work they only see each other about once every 3 months) which meant he didn't do the things he was supposed to and never saw the notes I had sent home from hospital (which is why today we have re-washed the towel he was supposed to have taken out of the washer - still stinks even though it has been out on the line through various downpours for over two weeks).

He remembered to go to the old house to fetch the phone and modem, but only after the engineer had been so we couldn't get incoming calls for a few days and it took a while to work out what our new phone number was - he seemed to think his duties ended at letting the man in the house. And he forgot to put out the bin.

DS2 contributed to the chaos by 'gifting me' a load of bedding - this was distributed over and under the kitchen table and in various other containers. I wasted loads of time the week before admission washing, drying and distributing it to various charity bins.

The room I am in is organised - everything I could immediately need is (bill files/ embroidery stuff/ underwear/ pills, brushes, tweezers) at waist high or above as I am not allowed to bend/ twist/ turn but apart from being terrified of making the wrong movement (lots of rules about how to sit and stand etc) and dislodging my new hip joint, I am mending well. DS3 only needs to keep my water bottles topped up (I can get to the bathroom to get a drink but can't carry water back) and tie my shoelaces (everything below knee level involves 'forbidden' movements).

I walk downstairs at least once a day and managed to walk as far as the post box last Friday, otherwise I have only walked up and down the yard (putting things in bins and bringing in items of washing one at a time). The district nurse came last Thursday to take off the dressing and then I went to my mother's to have a shower (has to be a walk in one - no bath for three months), but took a taxi both ways.

I try to do a little clearing every day but I am going to keep my list simple

    1) Embroidery I have a Christmas stocking, some cushion covers and some Christmas ornaments (for three different people) and I would like to complete them and sew them up, ideally by the end of the week but next week if this is not possible.

    2) De-clutter I read today about a woman who is planning to give away 24 things for the 24 days in advent, so I am going to try to do this. I still have some bedding (some in a bag, some on the line) and a kettle, toaster, sandwich maker and frying pans left by DS2 and a double bed in the attic and a number of other items in the shed at the old house so there is no shortage of items to go, it is just a matter of finding charities/organisations who can collect the things I cannot move (the bed needs dismantling).

    3) Therapy Continue with exercises, walking and periods of sitting and resting. Freezer is full, try not to fret about things that are not getting done (taken two days to persuade DS3 to put the towel in the washer, still not taken it back out despite reminding him three times, when he was already going downstairs).

Good luck with your lists everyone.

    Hi all,

    Please may I join?

I am a list maker for everything!!! Sadly I make these lists and then lose motivation to actually get it done! I'll complete a couple of things and then that's it.

I currently have daily, weekly, monthly, yearly and a master list!!! Sad I know!

Think it's time to make myself accountable!! So please do give me the kick that I need if I am slacking. I may be bruised in no time from a lot of kicking but it will be worth it if I see my ever increasing lists going down.
