Tesco Wine - avoid at all costs

I hope one or two have learned a lesson from this. Observe the forum rules and etiquette and be nice to people.
Famously I'm on ignore but this makes no sense. What lesson am I meant to have learnt to have been put on ignore by yourself?
It's not punishing people by putting them on ignore. Who really cares!
I wish people would just get on with doing things without making such a huge drama about it. You've put people on ignore (which I don't think you have anyway). Why do you keep on feel the need to keep on lecturing people about this.

This has been an interesting thread to follow when stuck at home and bored!
The title attracts attention "Tesco Wine, avoid at all costs", and this is the Praise, Vent and Warnings forum, open to the public so opinions will aired and varied.
One assumes OP was both venting and warning so I was puzzled as to why he chose to be so bullish, sarcastic, vexatious, rude (and sometimes all at once) right from the get go.
The first couple of posts asking quite innocuous questions were met by his annoyed response and the dig "obvious" (#3), each subsequent response from him deteriorated further and further as his rage at being questioned rose.
As a mere observer until now, perhaps it may be helpful for Fella to note for the future that some readers will try to get a complete picture of the "avoid at all costs" scenario BEFORE putting a company on their use with caution/do not use radar.
Your late delivery 6 bottles missing, END OF approach is what led this thread to deteriorate and diluted the message IMO.
GlynD, "I hope one or two have learned a lesson from this. Observe the forum rules and etiquette and be nice to people".
You have posted the VILEST, NASTIEST messages (unfortunately OP quickly followed your lead). Sadly you cannot see that the comment above which you delightfully hand out to others isn't one you bothered to follow yourself!
This thread has become more than I can stomach reading now, as GlynD obnoxiously pats himself on the back after behaving in an appalling manner, (his latest comments prompting me into participating now), so I'll take myself off back to work without additional participation, life is too short.
Though I hope OP gets satisfactory recompense for the missing bottles of Champagne (can't stand the stuff myself, too dry, so no envy at the purchase of 18 bottles oozing out of me), and the late delivery, I can't honestly say I care much.0 -
Best place to get a quick response from tesco is their facebook page.
From experience they very rarely answer the phones quickly, especially in store.
I understand how frustrating it is when they don't let you know in advance if something's out of stock for delivery but that is the chance taken when ordering so far in advance.
Yes they should take the number you've ordered out of the total for sale to stop this sort of thing from happening but let's be honest here tesco aren't that bright when it comes to these sorts of things other wise we wouldn't be able to get so many bargains/glitches throughout the year
As for how late it arrived, you still haven't answered that but for many there is a huge difference between 5 mins and 30 mins late. Yes you have chosen a time to suit you, yes you should be kept informed if it's running late but sometimes I think it's down to the driver. The guys who deliver to my area use the contact details to text or phone if they're going to be more than 10 mins late but that's usually a tesco direct order.SPC #329 £471/£500 banked

So, has the OP told us how late the delivery was yet or is that question still being avoided...
Either way it's a moot point because the T&C's that the OP signed up for and agreed to state quite clearly.
"Whilst we make every effort to deliver all your goods in the agreed time, we will not be liable if we fail to do so in part or in full"
It also says about items not being in stock
"Your Personal Shopper picks your order by hand on the day of your delivery, so not all the products you have ordered may be available when your order is picked. That is why we ask you to tell us what you want us to do if your first choice is not available"
Maybe the reason the OP is so filled with hatred and anger is because he never actually bothered reading the T&C's he agreed to... Or maybe he's just turning to the dark side of the force in which case none of us on here can help him unless we're Jedi masters!0 -
Let's get some of these "nasty" replies into a correct timescale.
1/ The OP posts about a late delivery and missing items but doesn't say how late the delivery actually was.
Yes, this fact can and will make a difference to the replies given.
2/ The next post is a politely asked question"So what has Tesco said then?"
3/ The next post is also polite with no nastiness or sarcasm."Also curious about the "ordered 2 weeks ago for delivery today", how is that "late", assume they gave a time slot?"
4/ Now the sarcasm starts, and it's from the OP themselves."It was late because they gave a time slot and didn't deliver in it.
(which I thought would have been obvious)."
5/ The next post asked again about how late the delivery actually was, and again, it was asked politely."How late were they? As you posted at 10:16am I can't see they were that late. I suspect only a few minutes."
6/ And Post #6 from the OP is where they started ranting at everyone."Also who cares what you "suspect" regarding how late they were. They were late, but if you weren't so keen to disagree with me for the sake of it you wouldn't be looking for reasons to excuse that too."
Following this unwarranted and rude reply, is it really any wonder that other people decided that ridicule was the only worthwhile response?0 -

The abuse the OP took before I arrived on the scene was appalling so, in complete violation of the rules and etiquette
As correctly pointed out by George Michael, the abuse was started by the OP in response to sensible questions.
You can ignore this fact if you wish, but ignoring something doesn't make it any the less true.0 -

Rubbish. The abuse was started by other posters. What has been dished out to the OP here is appalling, nothing short of it. If anyone felt he was over excited or hysterical it would have cost nobody a penny to ask him to calm down. By the time I joined in on post #23 the abuse was in full flow.
There's no need for it. Experienced posters should try to calm ther situatyion down rather than joining in with the abuse. I've seen this now far too many times when somebody is asking for help or just wants to vent. Rather than anyone lending a helping hand everybody jumps in and hounds the OP. It's happened to me too.
From now on I'm reporting threads where this happens and eventually, hopefully, the abusers/trolls will get the message. "BE NICE TO EVERYONE."0 -
I promise you: if I come across any more of this in the Praise, Vents etc forum I will be reporting you again, and again, and again, until you get the message that abuse will not be tolerated.
We are all on ignore so how will you come across this abuse?
The problem you have is you don't understand is that this board is not a board to ask questions or advice on. Its a board where people vent (or on very rare occasions praise) a company.
The problem the OP has (and yourself) is that many people don't find the OP's situation that bad. Certainly not bad enough to boycott Tesco for ever.
Some people can't cope with disagreement without taking it personally, thats fair enough but if you can't then you shouldnt be so aggressive and unpleasant in your posts. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Really?
Maybe you should read page 1 again, specifically posts 4 & 6.
Before these two, there was no abuse, sarcasm or anything out of place.
Two posters simply asked questions, and received sarcastic and snotty replies from the OP.
You have obviously decided to let previous experiences on this forum cloud your judgement and despite evidence showing that it was the OP who started the abuse, you have made your mind up that everyone else is wrong.0
