Tesco Wine - avoid at all costs

Who said it was for me?
We're getting to the truth now... your mate's asked you to order 18 bottles but you've drunk six. When he comes round to collect his bounty you're going to look a bit sheepish, give it the old 'Tesco didn't deliver' excuse and show him this thread as 'evidence' whilst surreptitiously nudging the last empty bottle underneath the sofa before he notices it."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -

I understand that you have had unsatisfactory service but I think that advising all and sundry on this forum to avoid ordering from tesco might be an excessive reaction. I would think that nearly everyone on this forum has had imperfect service from on line companies at some time...so who is perfect. Look at the price you are paying for decent wine from a supermarket. Ordering during a promotion will always carry the risk that the product will be popular and therefore become scarce. The terms and conditions make it clear. Late delivery is another issue and in all fairness if the delivery is going to be very late you should have been informed.....you won't answer the question...how late was it?
I have no intention of answering a question simply because a bunch of people who're getting their jollies by trolling this thread ask me it. Whether it was 5 seconds or 5 years late is irrelevant, by far the worse aspect was them cancelling a chunk of the order without bothering to inform me. Followed by them being uncontactable to resolve it or find out what was going on. Those aspects would have been enough for this to be appalling service if the delivery had been on time. However since I'm mentioning those disgusting aspects of their service it's only fair to point out the order was late too. A complete fail from Tesco.
Re the reaction being excessive, it depends what level of service you're prepared to put up with. Personally I won't order again now I know that they're capable of this but if other's don't mind placing an order & waiting in just hoping Tesco fulfil it that's down to them.
Re the ignore button, it's nothing to do with agreeing or disagreeing. Someone actually has to demonstrate fairly emphatically that they're the sort of person I have no interest whatsoever in reading another word they ever post for me to put them on ignore. Something a few on here have done admirably well.0 -

I don't think so0 -
I have read this thread, and quite honestly cannot see why peeps are giving the OP a hard time.
The OP ordered online - the delivery was late and six bottles short!!!
Whose fault was that - TESCOS!
I would have been absolutely livid as well.
All you folks who have been laying into the OP - do you work for Tescos?0 -
And yet another poster who can't resist chipping in to Tesco's defence. I was perfectly civil with the delivery driver, who couldn't give a toss regardless so your assumption is wrong.
Anyway, this was posted for the benefit of anyone who might, like me, have assumed that when Tesco took payment for in-stock items & arranged a delivery date, then confirmed all that by email, they might actually intend to honour it.
Obviously those people who've replied are absolutely delighted to place an order, arrange to be at home to collect it, wait while the delivery slot comes & goes, have it turn late up with items missing & no explanation, then be unable to contact the company to find out what's going on.
I'm sure you all love it when that happens, and that none of you are hypcocrites glibly saying how it's no big deal.
When I do a grocery order they only charge me for items that they have actually packed on the delivery day .
Is the wine site different then?Apparently, everybody knows that the bird is [strike]the word[/strike] a moorhen0 -
