I actually googled it and according to the first source I found, something like 3.5 million, 1 in 3 women of reproductive age, are on it. So I suppose given that, even with very low failure rates, there's gonna be some accidents.0 -

I'm sure that's what she's trying to do, it doesn't rule her her life but it is there, and I thought it could shed a bit of light on why the OP doesn't deserve to be judged too harshly for having the second without a marriage certificate.0 -
