  • I sent my phone back to C4P in very early November and they replied on 14th November stating that the phone had been received and it has passed its tests/checks and therefore the money will be with me in a couple of days, however I am still waiting. I have emailed them on at least 7 occasions but received no response so I officially wrote to them and again no response. My account on their website still states payment pending.
They are a disgrace. This company needs closing down or the heavy hand of MSE, Watchdog, Trading Standards need to be applied. since I sent my phone I've read 1,000's of reports all along the same lines as mine. Can't someone do something about them??? PLEASE

I'm in the same boat as you albeit a bit further along. Did you send the letter recorded delivery? And did you give them a time within to respond? That's what I did and when that time passed and I had their proof of receiving the letter via signed for delivery, trading standards took up my case. They have now sent them a letter giving them 14 days and after that I'll claim my money from county court. The only thing other than that I'd suggest is DO NOT waste your time or money calling them. You'll be on hold indefinitely and it can end up costing a small fortune. Just send everything via post, and retain any emails etc that they've sent to you confirming price or confirmation of receiving your phone.
  • I've contacts trading standards and fraud agency etc etc they basically said it's my stupid fault and there's nothing they can do. If the company are not replying or notoriously difficult to get hold off there is nothing I can do.

I find that hard to believe...

If the company aren't replying, then that's when it's Trading Standards' duty to get involved. What's specifically "your fault" about it? In hindsight we can all say "yeah, maybe I should have researched the company better before doing business with them" but that doesn't mean you're the one at fault if they are fraudulent or just generally awful.

I'd recommend you get back in touch with Trading Standards and direct them to the threads on this board where people have had trouble with C4P in the past and where TS have gotten involved to sort it out and tell them they have a duty to give you the same service others have received.

Thats true there isn't anything TS can do untill they do something illegal ....poor service is not illegal

If they end up not paying you in reasonable time and refuse to give you your phone back then thats illegal and they can act on it ;)
It's not just about the money
  • My nephew has got caught up in this, thought he would know better. Seems he did "some" research from one of those aggregator style review sites and I guess most of it was fake. Saw the extra £20 they were offering and went with it. Unlike most of the ripoffs they have not tried to reduce the price, just been almost 5 weeks whilst payment is being processed bs.

Anyhow. Ive done some digging and C4P Trading is now named Yemonia. Co No still is 06300042.

Address is suite 21, 5 Spring Suite, Paddington which looks like flats above a shop rather than some posh office suite.

Currently only 1 director who was appointed in Sept 2013 and who doesn't appear to have any other directorships.

One thing that I recall seeing on one of the MSE forums on here was something about an address being required on the website if it was a .co.uk. There is no address whatsoever on the website and whois just shows the registrants address. I am not sure if that is all it needs to show. hopefully someone can confirm if there is anything there that can be leveraged?

The phone just has a constant annoying message on loop.

I may wander over to the "suite" sometime this week as it isn't far from my current place of work. Otherwise I guess it is LBC.

    Urgent: avoid Cash4phones/Device buyer

In the October newsletter CAG reported on the numerous problems that people were having with Cash4Phones and advised people to be very wary of dealing with them.

    That advice has now changed.

Under no circumstances should you send your phone to Cash4Phones.

Cash4Phones have disappeared along with lots of customers phones.

The company has dozens of unsatisfied county court judgments.

Cash4phones have changed their name to Yemonia Limited.

If you send your phone to them, it's unlikely you will see either your money or phone again.

Unbelievable...what about those of us who sent their phones months ago and were actually offered an amount? Surely we should still be entitles to that through the claims courts?
  • This has happened to me too. I posted my phone to Cash4phones in October 2013, email followed to say my phone had been received and payment was being processed. This status stayed the same for several weeks with no payment and after two ignored letters, they have now removed my email address from their website. I do, however, have all proof of emails, postage etc. I have written to trading standards about them who, so far, have also ignored me! Apparently there was a piece on Watchdog about this dodgy mobile recycling company. In the meantime, I have also been ripped off £1000 for a car insurance company being fraudulent, what is going on with this country!!
