For some reason I have two cans of sardines. Any ideas? I have never eaten or cooked with sardines.
I like to always have a couple of tins in the cupboard.
I tend to have them grilled on toast, mixed through spicy tomato sauce with pasta or made into fishcakes with mash and chopped spring onions.

Made a big pan of corned beef stew yesterday which used up a load of veg from the fridge and cupboard bits but it's made lots so a good bit will be portioned and frozen. Space gained in the cupboards has been relocated (plus some) to the freezer:rotfl:

    OUT smoked mackerel.

Pamadish, what do you do with your smoked mackerel? I have some YS ready to eat smoked mackerel to use (should have been tonight but had a hell of a day at work and nipped to the pub after work, ended up with beans on toast!) what is the best way to serve these?

I tend to flake it over a salad, but I am sure I have seen it stirred through pasta in a carbonara type dish

Just reached the end of week four of only making meals based on meat/fish from my freezer. I reckon I have another couple of weeks to go. I knew I had a lot but didn’t think I could go for this long.

Supermarket yesterday. Picked up a whole shoulder of lamb on YS together with a large pack of chicken thighs and a loin of Pork that will make 4 chops and still enough to roast for three. Just got to squeeze them into the freezer with a...big...push (and some tetris). Not sure I am going in the right direction with my stores again.

More in than out over the past couple of days after a grocery delivery and freezing two portions of corned beef stew. I have fridge full of fresh veg so soup will no doubt be made with surplus added to my freezer meal stash.
