I try to have a freezer week every month but I can't resist YS sometimes. I have 5 chicken thighs for just £1.39 from yesterday, even though I have a bag of frozen ones (acquired the same way) in the freezer already. I confess to 3 freezers (hangs head in shame). Maybe a freezer month is needed here!

Oh Suffolk lass, you and I both need a freezer month, then. I confess to 5 freezers (although one recently deceased).

So actually it's 4 very full freezers and a fridge full of defrosted beefburgers. The other day we cooked them all to make them last longer. I'm fed up with eating beefburgers now and will probably never buy them again!!

Thank you all for the welcome. Can I ask how dehydrator works & if they are expensive? A freezer broke down last year & as it was in the garage we didn't notice until everything was well gone :(

I have a top of the range Excalibur 9 tray which I bought from an ad in a shop near my daughter's and it had never been used. It was pretty expensive even a less than half price but seemingly they go on for ever - like 30 years apparently! Just recently I have bought a smaller round one from Ebay for just £11.50 so I am well pleased and it will just be used for garlic, onions and mushrooms. I have solar panels so on a sunny or very light day it costs me nothing to run in daylight hours and little even overnight. An absolute must if you grow your own produce.

    Since last Wednesday :-

"Clearance" and reductions keep coming my way so have purchased these a few times. However, have tried to put more thought into quantities obtained, usage and money saving aspects. This has been difficult but maybe some "improvement"?

My one full freezer drawer at the start of the month might be a bit more again presently. Will have a go at reducing it to less than 90% (my best achieved in recent years) by the end of the month.
