Goodness, it's over a year since I was on this thread so you probably won't remember me. I'm the one who used to live on a farm (and had 4 freezers) and then moved to a terraced house and managed to cut down to 1 freezer with the help of this thread.
Well, we moved house again and before I knew it I had 5 full freezers! How does that happen??
I decided to join the thread again to force myself to empty at least one of the freezers.
Then two days ago one of the freezers died. Soggy bread had to go in the bin, but thankfully most of the rest of the stuff was still frozen. I transferred as much as I could to the other freezers and they're all now so full I've had to put cast-iron casserole dishes etc on top to keep them closed!!
We still have about a dozen beefburgers that won't fit anywhere and I've got to think of something to do with them before they go off (they're in the fridge at the moment. The second fridge. . . . .) In my defense, my mum has dementia and the second fridge was hers, as was the freezer that died.
But I still want to empty one of the other freezers. After all, there are only 2 of us in the house and we don't need 4 freezers.0 -

Since my last post (8th this month) :-
Bicycle transport back again has meant more potential for more food coming in. However, just one "yellow-sticker" cauliflower acquired. Also, via someone else, three packets reduced price "tofoo" (i.e. tofu). A few bits from the garden as well.
Non-food costs have been much higher this month but no food online shopping expected this week. Still one freezer drawer of food remains plus fridge/store cupboard contents to use up.0 -

I had to do a shop at the weekend mainly for fruit and veg plus dog food. Into freezer went frozen mixed fruit, and some fish as I had none.
So I went shopping in the freezers again and moved enough food over to the small one in the kitchen to last 1 week.
I'll record what I take out of the kitchen freezer.
Out over the last couple of days
venison, 2 pork chops, crumble topping, sliced apple, mincemeat, courgettes, toms, aubergine peppers all from my plot, bread, rolls and a bit of soup.
All the rest came from the fridge and veg store (nothing out of the cupboards) - phew0 -
