    Hi Folks, I’m back again too.

    I failed miserably to empty and defrost by September/October :o - I totally lost track and had a carrier bag of windfall apples to deal with. This past weekend I did an inventory and my priority over the next two weeks is to use up all the RTH meals and soup portions.

    I’ve a small quantity of fresh stuff to use up and the only thing on my shopping list at the moment is eggs :cool:.

    RTH Portions
    Chicken = Lasagne x 1, Curry x 2, In Oyster Sauce x 1, [STRIKE]Sumac x 1[/STRIKE]
    Pork = Sweet & Sour x 1, Sausage & Bean Chilli x 3
    Lamb = [STRIKE]Moussaka x 1
    [/STRIKE]Beef = [STRIKE]Savoury mince x 1[/STRIKE], Stew x 3, Keema Curry x 1
    Veggie = Falafel Patties x 1, Mushroom & Leek Lasagne x 1, Roast Veggies x 1

    Soup Portions = Broth x 3, Pea & Ham x 3, Minestrone x 2, Celery x 1, Leek & Potato x 3

    Next on my “To Do” list is a menu plan :D
    Jan - June Grocery spends = £531.61
    July - Aug Grocery spends = £219.21
    Sept - Grocery spends = £ 21.77

    Need2thrifty, like you I'm nowhere near empty freezers though my "stock rotation" has greatly improved! I think unless I stop bulk buying and batch cooking etc. that's unlikely to change but tbh I'm not inclined to miss out on offers etc. for things I will use over time. I'll get the big freezer defrosted one day though it's so old the shock will probably kill it.......
    In: 2 portions HM mushroom & lentil ragu
    Out: butterbeans, HM swedish meatballs, root veg mash, yeast, bread flour

    Used up: greek yoghurt, lemon, HM scotch egg

    No change since last Monday although I have spotted some "clearance" store cupboard products locally. Might get them as I do not think the price will get any lower. Also, have worked out how they will work (money saving/simple uses) with existing food "stock".

    :rotfl: That’s a concern I have as the poor thing is over 20 years old, but on a positive note the cubic space will increase a wee bit when the build-up of ice is defrosted :o
