I had a 'try ocado reserved for 4 weeks and we'll give you £30' offer so I had to order something!! Gin was on offer
I have just put the remains of the Indian takeaway in the freezer so that is a step in the wrong direction - although the alternative would have been to eat it and 2 lots of Indian in a week would not help the OS weight loss, or the 10 a day challenge. Parents arrived with unopened milk and a massive bottle of Heinz ketchup, also unopened, from holiday guests. I liked these ones! Used pastry for tea and put the other half of the pastry into the freezer. There's literally no more room in there!
Now we're both keeping stuff in i need to review what we're having this week.... And how i can work baguettes into it! Haha0 -
Working from home today so I put the slow cooker on with a Boston baked beans recipe that was posted on a thread about making your own baked beans on here. I had a bit of a mixture of different types of dried beans and I've no idea how old they are so we shall see how well they turn out!
I've got a final portion of veggie tagine & naan for my lunch today and with any luck some delicious beans for tea.0 -
I bought beans to make the home baked beans recipe I saw on here. We have obviously been inspired!I’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Pensions, Annuities & Retirement Planning, Loans

I have just had a chat with husband, there's just the two of us at home over the next few weeks. So we are going to do a little challenge. £10 per week to buy fruit, milk, bread, veg, salad. The rest has to come from stores. I really need to sort out my freezer, it leaks from underneath. It's rotted the wooden floor and needs sorting. The utility room/ store room could really do with sorting out so here's hoping this should help.0

Have you tried the beans yet MallyGirl? I put mine in the slow cooker yesterday morning and the recipe said 8-10 hours on high. The beans were still fairly hard after 8 hours and all the water was gone so I put loads more in from the kettle and tried for another 2. Still not cooked so another 2. After that they were nearly there so I switched the SC cooker off and went to bed to let it cool down over night. This morning they are finally cooked! Unfortunately because they dried out I think a little bit got burnt as there is a slight burnt flavour to them. I mean obviously I'm still going to eat them (and there's a lot there!) but I'm not quite as excited about it as I was.0

I kicked off some dhal before the beans were delivered - it is taking an equally long time to cook. I have just had to put it on for another SC session as the yellow split peas are still too firm. Baked beans will have to wait as I only have 1 SC.I’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Pensions, Annuities & Retirement Planning, Loans
