Eating out of the freezer and cupboards challenge - part two

:beer:I have a rule to use up what I have in the fridge, freezer and cupboard at least for one week, every six weeks. That way, stuff is used up before the 'Best by' date and save money too. My mother used to believe, any one can cook a meal when you have enough food stuff. When you have a bit of this, and little of that, you need imagination and creative nature to make dinner.
Good idea:beer:0 -
Still got dicky tummies here. Anything that goes in comes out the back exit pretty quickly afterwards. Seems no point cooking anything that we won't enjoy and has little benefit, especially as I'm rather tired (not kept anything in since Tuesday). I think omelette will be easy enough. I'm more annoyed that everything is just sitting in the fridge/freezer/cupboard. Thankfully I have the week off work so that's something less to worry about, but it is DS's birthday and party on Friday, so we need to be well before then!0

Ah, unexpected update, incoming of a bag of basmati rice, half a pack of tea bags, a jar of marmalade, 4 posh naan breads and 11 part baked baguettes. Bread things bar one baguette are in the freezer. It's all unused stuff from mum and dad's holiday guests. The tea is only half because mum used half a bag to top up their caddy, everything else is unopened. Oh, i got some celebrations too, i wanted the mars, galaxy and milky way ones for DS's space birthday party.0

I seem to have stalled so it is time to get back to this. Very little has gone into the freezer recently and a few things have come out but not enough.
I have written a plan for the week which will use some beef mince, smoked haddock, Ikea meatballs, fries, petit pois and maybe sausages.
I just need to stick to it.
There is a fair sized order coming from Ocado tonight but it contains gin, wine and some essential fresh milk/juice/veg. No meat or fish so that is a step in the right direction.I’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Pensions, Annuities & Retirement Planning, Loans

Bag of frozen bread crusts which nobody ever wants to eat out of freezer, chopped into cubes, sprayed with oil, chopped garlic and herbs and baked until crispy. Now yummy croutons to eat with soup, salads and snacks.0

I like the sound of your Ocado order MallyGirl!
I was home alone with my little'un yesterday as husband is away for work for a week. Typically the boy woke me up at 3am and it took an hour and half to get the little wotsit back to sleep again. By that time I couldn't get back to sleep and in any case he was back in and raring to go at 6. It was a loooong day.
I managed to use up some of the chickpea surplus by making us some veggie tagine for lunch and served it with hm naan from the freezer. I am seeing some progress in using up cupboard stuff but the freezer is always chock full because as soon as I use something up I cook something else that has leftovers to be frozen. Leftover tagine and naan for lunch today and I'm planning some soup from the freezer for tea with toast and cream cheese which needs using up.
This morning's alarm call was 4:45. I'll be needing a nap soon.0
