Anybody tried to use the website to apply for the new fixed tariff? The March 2015 tariff does now appear as a choice, but the on-line application form doesn't know about economy 7 and doesn't ask for the night reading. I clicked on the 'continue' button thinking I might be given an extra E7 entry option and my application with the meter readings was immediately sent.
Scottish Power now have only half of my electric readings, which will confuse them.
So, even if you are standard rate electric and can use the form correctly, doublecheck your entries, because when you click that button they are in the system and away.
I noticed the same thing but just entered day xxxx/ Night xxxx in the reading box. All it is doing is sending an email message with the details for them to see.
You could log onto your account and update the proper meter readings so they can see the correct figures, or just complete the online switch again and enter the details as described above. It is only sending another message to them.0 -
Anyone having problems with the SP website?
I can't log on today, it doesn't recognise my email address! Bit worrying.:(
Also, last weekend I applies to switch online via my account. I got the automated email reply saying they would contact me within five days. I've heard nothing so far. I would hope that if I've missed a phone call they would have at least left a message.
Anyone done it this way and had a response?0 -

Hi, Scottish Power site is working OK for me.
I applied to switch online to the Online Fixed Price Energy March 2015 tariff on Monday 14th Oct. I received their automated email saying they will respond within 5 working days...........Haven't received anything yet.0 -
When they called to get me to switch, the Scottish sounding young man did say March 2015 is flying off the shelves.
I had a few "unable to connect" scenarios after having logged in already. This suggests the servers are inundated by enquiries.0 -
Take care.
There are 2 march 2015 tariffs.
The one you refer to is the expensive one!
The cheaper one ends 31 March.0 -
We've got economy 7 (use 70% at night) and scottish power are always cheapest. I got a quote last week for the old March 2015 tariff but it was £200 more than our current April 2014 fix and the 2017 one was even more.
The new version is cheaper for us than the withdrawn March 2015v2 one but still around £95 more but I reckon that when our fix ends in April it would be more than that so have moved to the new March 2015 one but what a battle! Started mon pm and altho I could get a quote online the girl had nothing on her system so could only offer to call me back today- saturday! Kept trying to get thru and finally managed it yesterday (fri) and got a helpful young lady who went through it all but I had to be really insistant to get my DD set at the right amount. By my calculations using a bill I'd generated a couple of days ago and deducting the usual overpayment - £190 It worked out that it should be set at £133 but no, her system wanted £150 so I said no so she tried again and got £144 which I am currently paying but by now I was so p'd off with them I said no, so off she went for ages and came back with £136 which I agreed to.
Their customer service sucks. Interestingly I had logged out my acct and did a quote as a new customer on mon and lo and behold got an unasked for call on the tues morning to try to get me to switch so they can get back to you quickly when it suits them. I told him exactly what I thought of the customer service and asked him to pass it on. Of course there was nothing he could do to answer my queries.
Terrible service.
I'd filled in the online switch form and wrote both readings on it but no one ot back to me and I needed to speak to someone to be sure I was on the cheaper tariff and get my DD absolutely spot on. Really shouldn't be so hard should it!0 -

So much for transparency then!
So there are two tariffs called March 2015, an expensive one and a cheaper one, being offered at the same time?
The SP site seems to be having problems this morning, so I cannot see these tariffs at the moment.0
