I'm on the Scottish Power Energy Saver 20. it was a good deal but it ends 31 October. I'm so peed off by their customer sevice (or lack of it) that I am considering a switch. SSE is showing cheaper anyway.
First Utility is showing even cheaper but don't they have a poor reputation?

I tried to switch to this tariff this morning via my online SP account, since their phones are very busy (estimated 2.5h hold time!) but all it shows is the Platinum Fixed Energy Online tariff.

Has the March 2015 one been pulled?

I can confirm thismorning that having failed to get through on the phone to chase my tarriff change, my online account is showing the new tarriff thismorning.

They must just be really behind on working thro the emails.

About two weeks on the shelf.
Launched on 11th October, but didn't show up on the SP website until 14th October. Last available day 23rd October 2013.

A lot of people are using the comparison sites.

It does mean it will be harder next time to grab a good tariff, with more competition around. In ten years time, fuel will be so expensive, that we will have to roam the countryside with shotguns, and kill each other for firewood. Is there an app for that?

A potential rival for Grand Theft Auto: "Firewood". Obviously you collect firewood for points. In the online multi-player version, you raid other communes for their firewood.

It did make me wonder at which price point people start dying in larger numbers or people start to riot?

Price have gone up 130% in ten years and even if the go up just 10% every year it isn't going to take that many years to double then double again?

If £1500 a year is a fairly typical energy bill next year, then surely £3000 by 2022 and £6000 by 2031 cannot be sustainable?

    I'm really confused now.
Different comparison sites are showing different costs for the same deals, different rankings for suppliers and different customer satisfaction ratings!
Between uswitch and energyhelpline there is nearly £100 difference showing for EDF quotes. (based on the same details given).
I actually spoke to a real person on energy helpline and she tried to get me to switch with her then and there - she said it would be more hassle for me otherwise. Are these people on commission?

Dear me - I think I need a comparison site for the comparison sites!

Switching sites should disclose the commission they earn from each supplier. They should also display all tariffs, not just those that pay them commission.
