Why? Will something happen there that doesn't over here?
Or is this another way of boosting the corporate value of the site or people to make even more money?:hello:0 -
No thanks - Twitter is for Twits! and I agree with Tiddlywinks!0

I presume that nothing from threads on the Forum will be reproduced as Tweets without the express permission of both the OP and all respondents involved? I don't recall giving permission for my MSE rambles to be featured elsewhere ...:heartpuls Mrs Marleyboy :heartpuls

Hmm, true.
I'm not on Twitter, don't plan to join, and certainly wouldn't want to publicly link my account here to one in my real name!
Is the stuff I write here going to be posted elsewhere?0 -
This is worrying - I post on here knowing that the world and his wife can lurk or join in - But, Twitter is another matter! does this mean all those Twits get to see our posts too?
I post assuming that this forum is open only to those who find MSE. I have reservations about it being on Twitter too. whose Bright Idea was that?0 -

That's kinda my worry too. I don't want to have to join Twitter simply for the purpose of reassuring myself that nothing is being re-posted on there, whether anonymously or not.
I've PM'd MSE Andrea to come back to this thread and clarify things for us.:heartpuls Mrs Marleyboy :heartpuls

Let's face it, MSE joining Twitter is just a way of adding 'value' to the company... the more 'followers', the more chance of making money and getting more TV appearances etc.
This isn't for our benefit really, is it?:hello:0 -
I don't like this - MSE Andrea blithely comes down and announces we are on Twitter - but doesn't give any facts! doesn't say how this impacts MSE! in fact, doesn't say anything about how this affects MSE!
ARROGANT or what? I think MSE posters need more than this - because right now I am thinking - 'There are other Forum Sites out there'.0 -
I guess there is the thought that all our posts (except those in non-public boards like DT) are available from Google searches, so they're not private.
Looking at the Twitter feed, they do seem to cross-ref to MSE threads and also occasionally quote from usernames, eg.benb76 on asking a colleague you like for an after-work drink: "it's a one way ticket to the friend-zone"
But I just wonder what the point of it is? Why bother, isn't this just creating more work for an already stretched (apparently) MSE Forum team?:heartpuls Mrs Marleyboy :heartpuls

Why?
(Oh - I've worked it out now - so we can have shorter answers to [STRIKE]posts[/STRIKE] tweets - such as Why?)Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
