Just seen it. You're quite right. No need. I already feel like a worthless, dried up barren creature without tv adverts reminding me.
^^^^ This is exactly how I felt when I saw it, I was really upset TBH. There is no need to be quite so smug about it, ggrrr to Johnson's. If I do get a baby, I'll not use their products!

Ooh newbies, I like it! Now let's hope we're all out of here by Christmas
How bad is that new Johnson's baby advert?? No need!
A few years back Calpol ran an ad that said 'If you've got kids you'll understand' in such a smug, self-satisfied, aren't-we-all-lucky-to-be-part-of-the-parent-gang way that I vowed there and then never, ever to buy any Calpol or its associated evil twin Calprofen. And I never have. And never will."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -

Exactly! It's like when people say stupid things like "as a parent I was horrified to hear about ' insert child abuse case here'..." Because obviously as a non-parent I couldn't give a monkey's about neglected or abused children. Mothers starving their own children? Well, as I haven't give birth I assume that's completely ok.

Whilst we are all on our soapbox I will put my bit in!
I have just walked around town at lunch and it appears that EVERY woman has either got a baby or is v heavily pregnant. Everywhere I walked I was hit by it. The bit that really annoys me was the teenage mums with their baby's and cigarettes.
dont get me started on that one.

Big big hugs sewit :grouphug::grouphug:
And also a little kiss...:kisses3:
ETA: T2D, I really hope I didn't upset you. I'm sure you know I would never intend to!
Not upset in that way! Don't worry, I know you.
It's just the odd time a comment reminds you how near and how far away you are from your goal.0 -

Idiots.
Whilst I've been off work I've seen loads of those child sponsorship ads and there's one with, I think, Fiona Phillips saying something like "As a mother..." which grinds my gears. Like you say, because I haven't given birth, I'm overjoyed to see suffering children. I couldn't possibly understand. If I decide to sponsor a child, it wont be through that agency.
And don't even get me started on those stupid facebook mom memes.Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0 -
I wondered where everyone had gone over the weekend, totally failed to find the shiny new thread. Doh!
Things I hate (along with all of you at the moment) smug adverts; smug pregnant people; people who ask when I'm planning on having a child; Facebook both for baby updates and baby adverts (for goodness sake); stupid people.... the list could go on but I'd just upset myself.
I have my HSG on Wednesday and ultrasound on Thursday, hope it won't be a problem having them one after the other. And my asthma's bad. Just great.0 -

*hugs* back to you. I'm still injecting and hope my little follie has grown tommorow will be 6 weeks tommorow of the injections.0 -
SMA advert winds me up no end; smug & patronising. Not seen the Johnsons ad although I take comfort how terrible their products are and wouldn't touch them with a barge pole. And the phrase "you'll understand when you a mother..." should be consigned to deepest, darkest pit along with "relax & it'll happen" and "you should just adopt".
And breathe...
P.S. good luck this week cwtw and part mouseThe biscuit will only dare to be just a biscuit when it is with its true friend the potato. (Edward Monkton) :beer:0 -
Hi All,
Hope you're all well.
Can I ask a quick question for those that have had an HSG? I had mine on Wednesday morning and had a bit of cramping for a few days after. Nothing too bad. Last night I started getting relatively sharp pains in my left side. It's happening again this morning. In a way it feels like someone is pinching my insides sharply.
Did anyone else experience this? Not sure whether this is something to be expected.
Thanks
FA x
I had HSG, and was crampy for few days after but that was about it.0
