We added it up last time and it was something like £110 if we'd paid for all the prescriptions individually.
How many prescriptions did you need during your IVF cycle? Did the clinic send you all the drugs you needed in one go or in batches according to match each treatment stage? The biscuit will only dare to be just a biscuit when it is with its true friend the potato. (Edward Monkton) :beer:0 -

We had some to start with - I think about 10 days worth - then I'd get another prescription after each scan (every other day) with enough to last till the next scan. I think it took my ovaries a while to work out what they were being asked to do.
Each prescription had menopur and cetrotide on as separate items so it was nearly £16 every 2 days (or would have been, without the PPC).
I also had some buserlin which I didn't technically need but we didn't know that until after I'd started using it.
Another separate prescription for the ovitrelle trigger shot.
Couple of prescriptions for progesterone.
Also the on-going prescriptions for metformin and co-codamol.
Everything apart from the met and co-codamol I had to get from the hospital pharmacy which was a big PITA as their average waiting time is about an hour. Not good when you need to get back to work!
Soon adds up, that PPC saved us loads. Just wish there was a private equivalent.0 -
Hi everyone - hope you all enjoyed the lovely sunshine this weekend.
Not surprisingly AF showed up lunchtime saturday so I am CD3 today. I started cycle 5 of clomid last night so here we go again.........
It's really interesting to read about all the different types of drugs for IVF and the PPC. I never realised you needed to take so much medication. Guess it makes sense though.

Morning ladies.
We I am 14DPO today, and no sign of AF, or associated pain. Although there was a hint of a headache yesterday which is often an early sign. Of course she will show up today or tomorrow... or maybe wait one extra day to upset me. I refuse to test, as I'm tired of that single line on a test, plus last time I skipped periods it was just the start of a long tedious new medical annoyance.
Of course, I don't really think that. I can't help hoping!0 -

Totally! For some reason I have gone beyond hope this time into absolutely certain that we've finally managed it. So looks like I'm ready for a crashing fall sometime in the next 2 weeks. Although on the plus side the over-optimism probably won't last that long and I'm only 1dpo so by the time AF rears her ugly head it shouldn't be such a crushing blow.
Certainly haven't done anything different this time to warrant such optimism.... I just feel so sure!0 -
DH has been taking vitamins now for almost 4 months to improve SA, and I know I ovulated on CD12, so there is reasonable hope. Hope in the face of crushing experience of course. Isn't that one of the signs of insanity? Repeating the same action over and over with the hope of a different result?
I've been badly messing with my diet (in an unhealthy way) to get to my BMI last week, so it could also be that that is causing some changes, but I have stopped such stupidity now.
Not sure I mentioned, but I have quite an exciting appointment on Wednesday. The oncologist and FS finally managed to speak to each other, apparently for 20-30 mins, and have made a plan for me! They haven't told me... but I know the FS was keen to get me moving onto an IVF cycle, and unlike my oncologist she wouldn't accept 'just wait'. I get to find out the plan on Wednesday. Something else I am trying to not to be TOO hopeful about, but I can't help hoping its a viable plan.0 -
Ooh T2D that all sounds promising. Fingers crossed for the appt, and most of all that you won't even need it
Of course, at 1dpo I wouldn't have got so ahead of myself as to work out my EDD. Or know that at Christmas I'd be 13 weeks and could tell everyone over christmas dinner. Or worked out when I'd be going on mat leave.
Obviously all those things would be beyond ridiculous.0 -
Morning all,
Good luck with the 5th cycle little me! We need another BFP here soon!
Good luck to all the ladies down regging this month too.
I'm currently on cd5, and taking 150mg clomid this time. This is cycle 3 on it. I must say it did shorten my last cycle to something resembling normal! So I'm quite pleased about that. It meant no weeks of waiting for af to show up!
My ttc confession - we don't often do the deed because we want to anymore, more because we had to! But man when we do it's good lol. And it's a nice feeling to know its because we wanted to!0 -
Tea lover - I've done the exact same thing this month!!!!
We are getting wed next August and I keep working it out now because we'd be weeks away from the wedding if it happens in the next 2 months.
Would I be bothered?? No not at all, I will walk down the aisle as a huge whale if I need to!0 -
FS did tell us though that basically there was no chance of a natural BFP - which is why I know she would push the oncologist, who is of the 'keep trying and see what happens' school of TTC.
She said with little or no EWCM it wouldn't be likely, combined with fluid in the uterus and them not even being able to get a egg transfer catheter into the uterus, the chances of a healthy sperm getting through there is virtually nil. And with 'moderate to severe male factor', it isn't likely - to put it mildly.
(19 June by the way. not that I would be doing such silly things as calculating of course)0
