Did the surrogate also have a baby? So that is why she has two?
Very strange. I still can't believe this is easy for anyone, regardless of their fame. In some ways there is more pressure. But it would be nice to have endless funds to make it all move much faster.
End the hate though TCD! (Insert little placard here).
If you hate, then you will never relax, and then it won't 'just happen'. Dontcha know we are all just not relaxed enough.0 -
Arrgh - I googled and found the story on DM. Why do I fall for reading the comments on these articles!0

I have never read something that filled me with such rage! Seriously- she met someone in June 2011, within 2 months they've moved in, 'soon after' (magazines words) she is pregnant, 6 weeks later she miscarries twins (can't be nice for anyone- but the hate starts after this part)...... She then has 3 cycles of IVF in 2012 that fail- after 'trying to conceive again naturally'- seriously- how long did she spend post miscarriage ttc? A day?!? Can you imagine rocking up to your GP's after at most 6 months ttc and asking for IVF?! Consultant suggests surrogacy to her- surrogate gets pregnant. She 'relaxes' and conceives her 'miracle' baby. !!!!!!. WT actual F. Why?
*my anger issues are clearly apparent in this post. Apologies for any unintentional offence- but this woman and the interview WAS ridiculous!
I remember reading a fertility mag when waiting for my appt once that had an article about Celine Dion and her miracle IVF baby (10th attempt). 10th?? It filled me with horror actually. Seriously. Is that supposed to be inspiring? How much money did that cost, !!!!!!??
Anyone who says that to make a baby, you just need to relax should be shot."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -

Yes. She had a biological child, and her surrogate also had a child. Hence the two babies. I remember reading about it. I suppose at least she had the surrogate's baby too, rather than just dumping it on the surrogate saying 'Ooh, look, got my own now. Thanks but no thanks. Byeeee!'."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -
I remember reading the Caprice story when they were both pg... obviously in the waiting room at the FS. Does no one vet these magazines before they put them out there??
Back at work today and seriously ready to kill already. So bl**dy tempted to hand my notice in. But having already done that in November last year I can't imagine OH being thrilled if I do it twice in a year!0 -
codemonkey - thanks for that, I will do some research into non drug IVF, I have calmed down now and am trying to see that it is a positive thing that I dont need Clomid.
mrsdavo - Ouch to the hand blood test! I hope it is not too sore and that you are feeling less emotional today
peonie - Re the maternity wear - When I first started TTC last year I was so tempted to snap up some Dorothy Perkins clothes in the sale...As for the baby shower - I have no idea what to do regarding a present .... DH & I are being very frugal at the moment saving so this is really annoying. I dont want to look like a stinge but I'm not sure on the etiquette
Obviously I am happy to buy something after the baby comes, but the first baby shower (which is next Saturday) is also a Body Shop party... I always feel so obliged to buy stuff at £££
teacakeordeath - ...And breathe.... It does seem that these stories are everywhere at the moment! I can't help but feel that the child born to the surrogate may feel a bit different and less 'loved' than the 'homegrown' one. I hope that is not the case.
tea lover - Is it that you hate your job or that you are just feeling stressy over other things? I sympathise as it is rubbish when you are not enjoying/dreading work.
part mouse - hugs to you x
fluffnutter - Celine Dion had 10 IVF cycles! That is quite depressing... And I totally agree about the ....'you just need to relax'... I've had that said to me quite a few times recently be well meaners, but is quite annoying!
AF is due anytime between today and Sunday for me, so I am prepping for that. If it's going to come I would like it today as then I can have a nice glass of wine guilt free on Friday night when DH is out whilst I watch a chick flick
Hope you are all well, I am really enjoying the support I get on here.0 -
