Code, theres so much bs connected with fertility treatment. When I went to hosp reciently as it was pouring out of me the did a pg test. Even after the treatment failed.

Trying to tell a nurse today that I can't book a smear mid cycle was a joke as i dont have a cycle. She said theres blood in your urine, yes i know thats all my body does is bleed.

It always seems to be that some (by no means all, there are some good ones!) of the nurses/drs/receptionists etc. just can't cope (or listen) if you're anything other than a standard 28 day, no problem cycle. Very frustrating. It's like when they try and insist you have 'day 21' bloods. Not much flaming use when you don't ov till about 10 days after that.

The FS tried that one - "your progesterone was low but that's ok because it probably wasn't day 21 of your cycle and just wasn't done at the right time". At which point I piped up "Actually it was done on day 67, 7 days after a positive opk and cm dry up and 7 days before my period arrived".

Just spoken with my Dr - she thinks surgery is likely :( Bloody typical seeing as I've got a toddler & a new job to contend with, apart from the fact that I really don't want to imagine them accessing my pituitary gland via my nose  _pale_

Is your Dr your GP or a Fertility specialist? Either way I would wait until you have seen the Endo or Neuro specialist for final confirmation as my Endo said I shouldn't even have been referred to her, in her opinion my FS should have just prescribed the medication directly.

But I feel your pain, it is a weird sounding op and I was really anxious about the thought of having it.

PM - sounds like you are in a nightmare situation. Keep pushing though - I would make your letter @rsey and put dates for when you expect to hear from them and then keep ringing/writing if they do not respond

Tealover - your comment about 21 day bloods is spot on - spoke to a GP about what happens next after being told I am apparently not ovulating - she told me that because my cycle varies this might not be the case and was a pointless test!! If only I had spoken to her first time. Am now being referred to a fertility specialist and being booked in for a scan to check for pcos.

Has anyone got any advice about the HSG?

Code - I had an HSG last May. It was pretty uncomfortable but not unbearable. I just made sure I had some paracetamol to hand after.

It's no worse than a smear, but felt a bit crampy when they injected the dye. It was pretty cool to see it on the screen and they told me straight away that my tubes were fine.

They were really nice nurses I had. Definitely wear a pad when you go as I had some " leakage dye ".

Other than that, it was fine xx

I had a hycosy which isv similar. My advice would be take a couple of painkillers. Honestly I found it pretty painful but it was also v quick, the painful bit was literally seconds.

My top tip though would be not to get dressed in a hurry and wear 'feeling foxy' socks...they look v odd when you've got no pants on and a couple of strangers fiddling where the sun doesn't shine.
