Aw, sorry to hear you feel so rubbish WTDN. Do you feel physically rough or just (!) mentally/emotionally knackered? This whole process can really take it out of you, and OHSS won't have helped. bear in mind that when (yes, WHEN!) you start producing HCG that can make OHSS worse again.... something to keep an eye out for.
Hope you have a lovely relaxing weekend planned. There's a lot to be said for a day on the sofa with a good book/DVD.0 -
Ladies, what would I do without you all?! Thanks for the lovely messages to cheer me up and for the information re the uterus not being a cavity! I never knew that and I really did worry that my embies had fallen out. Thanks for putting my mind at ease for next time.
GJ - amazing what they can do nowadays and great you got a good FS, who was it if you don't mind me asking? x
BigMomma- hugs to you lady, life does suck sometimes. x
WTDN - thanks for the kind words, I am trying to take it easy. How are you feeling, any better? Take your time and acknowledge the stressful situation this is. x
Fairy - I'm almost at the end of DR (thank goodness) I'm in for my scan on Monday. Is this your first cycle? Wish me luck and good luck to you for Wed x
Frozen - how is your FiL and how are you? Are you coping with the stress of it all? You are one strong lady! x
Floaty - any date yet for your new appointment? x
Peonie - how are you doing being PUPO! x
T2D - how did the drinks go last night and how are you being PUPO? x x
Tea - thanks I do feel a wee bit better. Do you think you have OV? x
Clevername - boo to your GP scaring you like that. Agree with the others that was unnecessary at this stage x
RG - wow, that is so soon for cycle 2! short protocol really does cut out a lot of waiting. You'll be stimming before me and I technically started this cycle on 23rd dec! x
Code - how are you a week or so on? x
Lisa - no idea how you'll cope with the 2WW, but you will, we all cope somehow. x
PM - thanks for the lovely words. Hope your bleeding is slowing and your lock out didn't last long! x
Neon - hi!
Phew, sorry if I've missed anyone!
AFM - very interesting chat re pessaries (if a bit yucky!). I started my pessaries at ET not EC, am going to ask about starting sooner and also about a gel that the doc mentioned, anyone used this?
Am feeling a bit better today, but sooooo over DR. Anyone else who is on/has had a second cycle, how did you face it? I am terrified most of the time and feeling really negative about it working, any advice?
big big hugs to all you lovely ladies! x0 -
Fairy & sewit I'm on short protocol and will start with 150iU Gonal-F. Not looking forward to using the pens, I just can't my head round them. Good luck for your scans.
Code that scene in UP still makes me & DH well up. It sums up all the emotions surrounding infertility so well. How are you?
WTDN Thank you. Sorry to hear you're having a crap time on the cyclogest. It does seem to multiply 2ww symptoms 10x. Curl up on the sofa and have a DVD marathon while your DH looks after you.
Clever glad you feel better today.
I'm scared too sewit especially about simming response and fertilisation (we didn't do very well there last time). DH and I talk about what we'll do if this cycle doesn't work which takes away some of the pressure & anxiety. And I've booked a skiing holiday for late March so I have something to look forward and non-TTC to focus on.The biscuit will only dare to be just a biscuit when it is with its true friend the potato. Hi Sewit.
If it was crinone gel i'd avoid it unless they give you a good reason to have it.
I had it for one cycle where they thought it was going to be really great, it was a new thing at the time but at the next cycle they changed their minds about how amazing it was.
It's basically a pre filled syringe filled with this gel that you insert daily (you know where!) Its a lot like wallpaper paste.
It was fine for the first few days but then became horrible. It kind of went up and stayed up, til I was basically full up of it (sorry guys!!) and then it started coming back out. When it did, it was black and thick and had irritated me inside very very badly and was making me bleed from the walls. This was the cycle where I got pg but it was ectopic and during all the extra scans etc and even after my surgery (2 weeks later!!) it was still coming out and irritating me.
Sorry, i'm sure that was completely TMI but if it is that they offer you, that is my experience of it, although i'm sure other people have not fared as badly!!!
Good luck with your cycle!!!!2 angels in heaven :A0 -
I'm bricking it this time. Far more nervous than before. I don't know whether it's because I know what's coming (physically), because this is our last go, because I'm scared about OH being so useless again or because I'm terrified of another m/c.
I was nervous last time, obviously, I'm sure we all are to different degrees. But I feel like I could have a panic attack if I just think about it this time. Am very much hoping that I'll be ok once we get going and that the problem is just the waiting and the build-up.0 -
Hi SewIt - we're doing ok. Well, as ok as we can be. Tbh I still feel a bit disconnected from it all. I was on the train and there was this woman with 2 adorable kids and she was being really snappy with them because they were running late and then the wee boy in his buggy grabbed her jacket and said "Mummy, my mummy". And it almost made me cry. And then last night I had a dream that I bombed Tescos with an exploding panini and I was just about to jump off a bridge before I was caught by the police, and then I woke up.
I have an HSG booked in for 30th. Should I still go do you think? DH hasn't cancelled his surgery yet so I don't know whether we should be proceeding as if it's still on or cancelling it so that someone who actually will have a baby can have theirs more quickly?
I'll also admit that I'd googled whether an embryo could just fall out earlier in my journey as I wondered whether I wasn't getting pregnant because the train/bus/car was hitting a bump and knocking the embryo out. :rotfl:
GlasweJen - that's so interesting about the procedure. It's amazing that we can do things like that. Don't mind your colleague. I love all that stuff.
WTDN - sorry you're feeling rubbish. Take it easy and remember that your body has just done this totally amazing thing, that it's not really meant to, and you need some time to recover and get back to normal.
PM - how are you doing today?
Lisa - I can't imagine how hard it is doing a 2ww. I guess you'll know what the OH's are going through and be able to eat chocolate and drink, although I'm sure you'd rather be in the situation where you couldn't. This journey to get our babies is so hard, but it'll all be worth it when you have your baby.
I stay off the ttc thread now. I think I was scaring them.
Hugs to anyone else who needs one.Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0 -

OMFG!! Perhaps its a good thing we have no sperm!!:eek:Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0 -
code - fwiw, I'd still go. It's far too early for you both to be making any long-term decisions (imo) and it never hurts to have the information so at least you get a full picture of what you're dealing with.
It may be that later on you look at sperm donation, embryo donation, other procedures for OH, etc. It may be that you don't of course - totally up to you. But it won't hurt to have this test done to add to your overall information to be making those decision with, iyswim.

Code, FWIW i'd still go also. Get it done then you have a full picture. You never know what the future holds.
If you don't then need it further down the line for whatever reason then you will kick yourself.
Good luck and thinking of you x2 angels in heaven :A0
